Job Overview

We are seeking a Staff Supply Chain Project Manager to take on our most complex, ambiguous, and highest-visibility programs. In this senior individual-contributor role, you will own the supplier-facing side of program execution across New Product Introduction (NPI), End-of-Life (EOL), and Operations & Maintenance (O&M) scope — often across multiple programs or commodities at once — and act as the critical bridge between Engineering, Commodity/Category Management, Supplier Quality Engineering and external Suppliers. Beyond running your own programs, you will set the playbook other Project Managers follow: shaping process, mentoring less-senior PMs, and representing Supply Chain in cross-functional and executive forums. The ideal candidate operates with a high degree of autonomy, exercises sound judgment in ambiguous or unprecedented situations, and can influence outcomes across teams without direct authority.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own supply-chain-side program management for the high visibility/high impact NPI, EOL, and O&M programs — driving plans, timelines, milestones, gate reviews, and budgets from early builds through production ramp and full transition to mass production

  • Partner with engineering and technical program counterparts on every engineering change or project, providing supplier readiness, cost, and schedule inputs while the technical owner maintains the engineering record

  • Lead supplier-facing execution of engineering changes: sharing EC and bill-of-materials data with suppliers, coordinating design-for-manufacturability feedback, and managing supplier schedules, tooling lead times, and capacity commitments

  • Drive transition planning (old part to new part at the supplier) and own obsolescence and disposition strategy for parts being phased out

  • Develop and maintain the end-to-end supply chain map for each program you own — suppliers, procurement model, lead times, shipment/logistics plan, assembly/test model, and spares strategy

  • Serve as the supply chain liaison with contract manufacturers (CMs), key suppliers and manufacturers, coordinating materials readiness from prototype builds through volume ramp

  • Manage spend against program budgets, and drive production risk buys or strategic buffers when needed to protect the build schedule

  • Own material readiness across program phases: proactively identify supply risks (lead-time changes, shortages, capacity constraints, design updates) and drive mitigation plans before they hit the build schedule

  • Own project cost impact analysis and cost reporting for the supply-chain portion of each program

  • Partner with tactical purchasing and commodity/category management resources, and support other commodities or cross-functional projects when workload allows

  • Define and continuously improve the processes, templates, and best practices other Project Managers use to run supplier-facing program execution

  • Mentor and coach less-senior Project Managers, providing guidance on complex supplier situations, escalations, and program trade-offs

  • Represent Supply Chain in executive and cross-functional forums, influencing program strategy and decisions without relying on formal authority

  • Identify and lead cross-program or cross-commodity initiatives (e.g., process redesign, tooling/systems improvements, org-wide reporting standards) that raise the bar for the broader team

  • Maintain project tracking and reporting for the supply-chain portion of the project schedule and keep program status visible to stakeholders

  • Deliver regular, data-driven status updates on program and supply chain readiness to leadership, proactively flagging risks and schedule changes

  • Own relevant supply chain KPIs and drive process improvements that help the team scale program execution

  • Support supplier performance reporting and business reviews alongside Commodity/Category Managers

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree a plus

  • Experience: 10+ years in supply chain program management, NPI program management, or commodity/category management within a manufacturing or hardware environment, with a track record of leading full lifecycle transitions from NPI to mass production

  • Demonstrated ability to independently own the most complex, ambiguous, or highest-visibility programs, and to exercise sound judgment with minimal oversight

  • Track record mentoring or informally leading other Project Managers, and influencing program strategy and decisions across teams without formal authority

  • Working knowledge of NPI, EOL, and O&M program lifecycles, and of change-management processes

  • Skilled in supply chain risk assessment and resiliency planning, including proactive supplier follow-up on delivery issues and critical-component escalations

  • Strong communicator who can hold suppliers accountable while building collaborative, trust-based relationships across engineering, commodity management, and manufacturing partners, and who can present clearly and credibly to executive stakeholders

  • Hands-on experience with project tracking tools and standard supply chain/ERP systems; comfort analyzing supply chain data and performance metrics to inform decisions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Analytical experience or knowledge — comfort working with cost, schedule, or supplier performance data to build reporting and inform decisions — is a plus

  • Experience building or customizing AI-powered tools or applications (e.g., using Claude or similar large language model platforms) to automate analysis, reporting, or workflows is a plus

  • PMP (Project Management Professional), APICS/ASCM (CPIM or CSCP), or CPM/CPSM certification is a plus
