We are seeking an exceptional Staff UX Researcher to join our growing team. You will lead research to support teams working on rider-facing experiences, as well as back-of-house operations. Your work will be seen and used by consumers all over the world in the 250+ markets we operate in.

We are looking for leaders who have an arsenal of qualitative and quantitative UXR tools, and who are able to jump in to deliver core tactical studies, as well as identifying and delivering foundational UXR opportunities to drive our business forwards.

What You'll Do:

  • Engage cross-functional stakeholders to align on research needs and define projects with clear goals, hypotheses, recruiting characteristics, methods to be used, and expected impact.

  • Identify and frame strategic problems, own the research lifecycle, translate insights to influence both short and long-term product decisions and roadmaps.

  • Create understanding and empathy around user needs, stated and unstated, for your entire product team including designers, product managers, and engineers.

  • Leverage qualitative and quantitative methods to evaluate end-to-end experiences, ensuring our product portfolio is designed to support a diverse range of riders. 

  • Analyze, synthesize, and interpret study findings into key insights to be delivered to cross-disciplinary stakeholders in clear, concise, and compelling ways


About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 5+ years of experience in an applied research setting, or similar.

  • Experience with product research, either in an end-to-end, usability, or generative setting.

Preferred qualifications 

  • Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.  

  • 7+ years of experience in an applied research setting, or similar.

  • Expertise in consumer product design and development. Preferred expertise in transportation and/or adjacent industries.

  • Expertise in quantitative and qualitative research methodologies including usability testing, interviewing, co-creation, concept testing, diary studies, literature reviews, and surveys.

  • An ability to own and drive the strategy and execution of entire end-to-end research programs.

  • Track record of research work that has directly impacted product, team, or business direction or strategy. 

  • Experience working in a very dynamic environment.

  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work fully independently. 

  • Strong stakeholder management and peer (eg. PM, DS, ENG, UXD, ID) collaboration skills. 

  • Comfortable teaching others. 

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
