As a Strategic Account Manager (SPP), you will manage and own strategic corporate relationships with key clients, subsidiaries, and partners for major enterprise accounts. You’ll develop innovative business plans to drive revenue growth and deepen engagement, overseeing a portfolio typically exceeding $2 million. This is your opportunity to shape and grow our largest, most complex accounts while representing all Staples Promotional Products lines of business.

What You Will Be Doing:
  • Manage and nurture strategic relationships with clients, subsidiaries, and partners, ensuring exceptional customer experiences across all touchpoints.
  • Develop and execute business strategies to grow sales and margin within assigned accounts for all Staples Promotional Products lines.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including merchandising, customer service, and operations—to deliver seamless client solutions.
  • Lead client meetings and presentations, driving incremental revenue opportunities and providing expert direction on merchandise needs.
  • Analyze account performance, identify growth opportunities, and align internal teams with client brand objectives.
  • Negotiate contract extensions, ensure compliance with terms, and lead business reviews and strategic account discussions.
  • Travel to key locations and participate in on-site events to champion our full suite of services.
What You Bring to the Table:
  • Outstanding relationship-building and communication skills, with a proven ability to lead and coordinate internal support teams.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and presentation skills.
  • Strategic mindset with experience growing sales and margin within assigned clients.
  • Ability to interpret and communicate brand direction and recommend innovative product ideas.
  • Financial acumen and the ability to negotiate and manage complex contracts.
  • Experience successfully utilizing digital selling and AI tools.[2]
What’s Needed: Basic Qualifications
  • Residence in Northern California is required.
  • 8+ years of experience profitably selling B2B programs to C-level contacts within corporate America.
  • 5+ years of experience within the promotional products industry.
  • Demonstrated leadership in coordinating with internal teams and supporting client goals.
  • Strong selling skills; excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage large, complex, global enterprise accounts.
  • Expertise in client portfolio management, sales and growth strategy, and renewals management.
