Omron is looking for an energetic and focused Strategic Account Manager to drive specifications, develop long-term profitable relationships and implement sales initiatives for Omron. This role is focused on a strategic segment – Data Centers. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in the automation, controls, and data center market. The ideal candidate will be located near New England, Chicago, or Northern California. 


RESPONSIBILITIES:   

 

  • Develop and execute strategic account plans that expand our presence with data center customers, including hyperscale, colocation, and enterprise operators. This includes advanced AI-driven controls optimization and liquid cooling solutions.
  • Drive engineering and corporate-level specifications for data center automation, electrical distribution, industrial controls, monitoring platforms, and integrated infrastructure solutions—particularly within our strategic product families.
  • Develop key contacts at customer sites/plants at select End User/OEM/System Integrator accounts. Work with Industry/technology/global teams and channel (where appropriate) to develop preference for and credibility of Omron with these contacts.
  • Intimately understand the processes used and issues faced at target data center customers. Work with other Strategic Sales and Engineering Team members to define specific customer product and solution requirements. Ensure that the information and resources are used to penetrate the target account(s) and increase Omron's presence.
  • Map and interpret customer organizational structures, identifying decision makers, technical influencers, procurement dynamics, construction partners, integrators, and operations teams. Communicate insights cross-functionally to maximize opportunity capture.
  • Build and strengthen relationships across data center development, engineering, facility operations, procurement, and commissioning teams to create long-term preference for our solutions.
  • Develop deep understanding of customer data center design methodologies, capacity-expansion cycles, redundancy requirements, sustainability goals, and operational pain points. Translate these into clear solution requirements for internal engineering and strategic sales teams.
  • Maintain current knowledge of our core product categories and adjacent technologies relevant to data center performance, including automation, controls, power distribution, cooling, safety systems, and monitoring.
  • Maintain account status and activates in CRM and provide a monthly update to Strategic Sales Manager.
  • Identify and develop virtual teams to support the assigned accounts/ opportunities.
  • Maintain strong alignment with Industry Marketing to understand data center market trends, technological shifts, evolving customer specifications, and competitive positioning. Communicate market intelligence to Strategic Sales Management, Product Marketing, and Product Development.
  • Develop customer value propositions, ROI models, and proposal packages that address total cost of ownership, uptime, efficiency, and scalability metrics specific to data center environments.
  • Represent Omron in a professional, ethical, and socially responsible manner.
  • Represents the Omron Guiding Principles through personal and business interactions with employees, distributors, and colleagues.


EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFCATIONS:


Education: Four (4) years Engineering Degree ( BSEE, BSME) or two (2) years Technical School Degree with equivalent years of technical or military experience.  


Experience:  Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated application solutions sales experience with end user, OEM or System Integrator customers. Proven history of consistent sales success. Data Center is preferred

      Technical Abilities: Automation Sales experience is a plus (Robotics, Machine Vision Systems,       Motion Control, PLC/HMI, Components, Safety, Sensors).

Can project market trends and willingness to make changes as necessaryAbility to inspire and coach a diverse sales team. Strong believer, understanding and advocate of the consultative solution selling process. Strong leader, able to drive innovation and influence a team while aligning and executing the sales strategy. Ability to excel within a 'high velocity' selling model.

The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with arms and hands, this is a sedentary position involving sitting most of the time. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision for extensive computer use, reading and visual inspections.

 

Environmental Factors: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is primarily in a general office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. The position is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.

 

Other Requirements: A deemed Export License may be required.

 

Travel Requirements: Minimum 30%

Salary Information:

The annual salary range for this role is $110,000 - $145,000 a year, however, base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. This position is also eligible for an annual performance-based bonus program. Candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
