As a Strategic Account Manager for Staples Promotional Products, you will own and grow strategic relationships with some of our largest enterprise customers. In this role, you will develop account strategies that expand revenue, strengthen margin performance, and help clients bring their brands to life through promotional products, merchandise programs, and creative solutions. You will partner closely with internal teams across sales support, merchandising, customer service, and other lines of business to deliver an exceptional customer experience and uncover new opportunities for growth.

 

What you’ll be doing: 

  • Manage and grow strategic relationships with enterprise clients, subsidiaries, and partners across the Staples Promotional Products portfolio.

  • Develop strategic plans designed to increase sales, improve margin, and expand penetration within assigned accounts.

  • Lead strategic business reviews and customer presentations with key stakeholders to align on priorities, performance, and growth opportunities.

  • Partner with internal teams, including sales support, merchandising, customer service, and other lines of business, to deliver solutions that meet client needs.

  • Identify and pursue incremental revenue opportunities by connecting customers with the full range of Staples Promotional Products capabilities.

  • Negotiate contract extensions and support adherence to agreed-upon contract terms and customer requirements.

  • Analyze account performance, customer goals, and market opportunities to develop a shared vision for long-term growth.

  • Provide direction on merchandise strategies, product recommendations, and brand-aligned solutions for client programs.

  • Travel to key customer locations and participate in on-site events to strengthen relationships and promote Staples Promotional Products services.

  • Responsible for sales budgets and margin attainment.

  • Schedule/Manage Client Business Reviews and lead strategic discussions at reviews.

What’s needed- Basic Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience selling B2B programs to“C” level contacts at corporate customers.

  • Experience using digital selling tools, CRM platforms, or AI-enabled sales tools to support customer engagement or pipeline management.

  • Ability to travel to customer locations and on-site events as business needs require.

 

What’s needed - Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • Experience in the promotional products, branded merchandise, print, or related industry.

*The salary range represents the expected compensation for this role at the time of posting. The specific base pay may be influenced by a variety of factors to include the candidate's experience, skill set, education, geography, business considerations, and internal equity. In addition to base pay, this role may be eligible for bonuses, or other forms of variable compensation.
