Reporting to the Director, Strategic Accounts, the Strategic Accounts Managers is responsible for increasing sales and market share of ESAB’s Standard Welding and Cutting Filler Metal, automation, cutting and Equipment products, through the aggressive development of End User and Distributor Strategic Account programs.
Primary Duties
- Establish and develop large customers and welding distributors through Account Relationship Management.
- Recognized as the ESAB contact for the accounts assigned
- Facilitate information/communication to all persons involved in the assigned accounts
- Maintain/develop customer satisfaction for all ESAB products the account purchases
- Maintain total ownership of the account
- Implement/coordinate the strategy of the sales team at assigned accounts v Coordinate the sales development of large customers
- Calls on Strategic Account customers (end user & distributors)
- Coordinates account activity with the applicable ESAB sales director and account manger
- Provide strategic direction for developing strategic account opportunities
- Convince customers of desirability of doing business with ESAB
- Coordinate technical support and activities with the sales force and other support personnel
- Manage the sales plans of assigned accounts
- Must be able to establish executive contacts with customers and maintain relationships v Maintain a leadership position in the ESAB organization
- Be a valued asset to the Regional & Territory Sales Managers
- Communicate with upper management on market and customer trends
- Develop full working knowledge of all ESAB standard welding products
- Continue to develop a personal understanding of the industry
- Develop negotiation skills to attain the highest margin available to ESAB
- Extensive domestic travel required to understand customer needs to perform normal strategic account sales function.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 4-year college degree with a master’s degree preferred.
- Broad sales experience in managing and developing large end user and distributor accounts selling to identified strategic accounts, 5 years minimum industry experience required.
- Excellent planning and administrative skills.
- Must be a motivated initiative-taker with the ability to penetrate all levels of the client’s management organization.
- Value-add selling experience preferred.
Working Conditions
- Remains in a stationary position 50% of the time and involves additional physical demands such as ascending/descending stairs, walking stooping and standing.
- Must wear Personal Protective Equipment ‘PPE’ when working/visiting manufacturing and plant locations.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery including but not limited to printer, tablets, cell phones.
- Moves transports, puts, or removes equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.; pushes, pulls products weighing up to 200 lbs. using provided safety tools.
- May be exposed to varying weather during travel.
- Domestic travel required approximately 80%.
Pay Range:
