Company Overview

Most companies don't end in acquisition — they end in closure. Yet shutdown has never been given the same rigor, clarity, or professionalism as the moments that came before it. Nearly 4 million companies shut down every year, creating a massive, overlooked market. SimpleClosure is building the infrastructure to change that.

Having raised over $20M from leading VCs and trusted by more than 7,000 companies to date, we streamline the entire business dissolution process — from legal and tax to operational and administrative — as one coordinated effort instead of a patchwork of disconnected steps. We go a step further, helping companies sell their remaining assets and return the most value to their stakeholders, through our AssetHub.

As the leading platform for company shutdowns, we have something no one else does: a continuous, proprietary flow of companies winding down, and the assets they built along the way. Our buyers span the top AI labs, RL environment providers, vertical and enterprise agent builders, VCs and deal-flow partners, domain marketplaces, and much more. Dissolution is our wedge; the marketplace is a big part of where we're headed.

Joining our AssetHub team means helping to define a new category from the ground up, working on complex, high-stakes problems, and building the products and processes that guide founders through one of the most consequential moments in a company's life.

Job Overview

We’re hiring a Strategic AI Partnerships & BD Lead to help us expand, and own some of our top AI partners and asset buyers. You’ll originate, structure, and grow the partnerships that turn our unique supply of assets into recurring licensing revenue — building relationships with AI labs and the companies that serve them, understanding exactly what they need for pre- and post-training, and translating that demand back into how we source and package supply. This is a senior, high-autonomy role for someone who knows the AI data and training ecosystem inside and out and can operate credibly with the people building frontier models.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own and grow buyer-side relationships across frontier labs, RL environment builders, data and evaluation vendors, labeling firms, and enterprise AI teams — from first conversation through signed, recurring licensing deals.

  • Originate new demand: identify which organizations need which assets — pre-training corpora, post-training and RL data, codebases, workspace data, specialized datasets — and open the door.

  • Structure and negotiate commercial terms — licensing structures, exclusivity, rights, and pricing, including MSAs and order forms — in close partnership with legal.

  • Be the voice of the buyer internally: translate what labs actually need into how we source, qualify, and package supply, working with product, supply, and engineering.

  • Stay ahead of a fast-moving market — training methods, evolving data needs, and the competitive landscape of labeling, RLE, and data vendors — and shape our commercial strategy accordingly.

  • Represent AssetHub credibly with senior technical and commercial stakeholders at labs and partners.

  • Build the repeatable playbook and infrastructure — pipeline, process, and materials — that lets buyer-side partnerships scale.

Desired Skills & Qualifications
  • Deep, current knowledge of the AI data and model-training ecosystem — both pre-training and post-training / RL — and how labs actually acquire and use data.

  • Experience at an AI lab, an RL environment or data/evaluation company, or in a function that sold to or partnered with those companies (BD, partnerships, GTM, or commercial).

  • A track record originating and closing complex, high-value partnerships or commercial deals, ideally involving data or technical products.

  • Comfort structuring and negotiating licensing and commercial terms alongside legal — exclusivity, rights, and pricing.

  • Fluent enough in the technical substance to earn credibility with researchers and technical buyers, without needing to be an engineer.

  • An existing network across labs, RLE / data companies, or the broader AI ecosystem is a strong plus.

  • A self-starter who is comfortable with ambiguity and energized by building a young, fast-moving business.

  • A senior operator — typically 7+ years in BD, partnerships, or commercial roles, with meaningful time in or adjacent to the AI / ML ecosystem.

  • Based in (or willing to work hybrid from) the Los Angeles, San Francisco, or New York metro.

What we offer
  • Competitive compensation package consisting of a base salary and performance-based variable component.

  • Competitive equity package

  • Comprehensive health benefits, including medical, dental, and vision

  • Life insurance

  • Unlimited paid time off

  • Flexible hybrid work environment in New York City (Midtown), Los Angeles (Santa Monica), or San Francisco (remote but must be in SF)

  • Two company-wide offsites each year

  • 401(k) with Traditional and Roth options, with immediate eligibility
