Your role at DynatraceThe Strategic Engagement Director is a senior, customer‑facing role within the Value Practice team, focused on helping customers and internal stakeholders quantify, articulate, and maximize the business value of the Dynatrace platform. This role partners closely with Sales, Customer Success, and executive stakeholders to develop compelling value propositions, financial business cases, and strategic narratives that support enterprise deals and expansion opportunities. The ideal candidate brings strong consulting, financial, and executive communication skills, along with the ability to work independently and drive impact across complex, cross‑functional engagements.

About the Role

Strategic Engagement Director responsibilities:

  • Lead Strategic Campaigns: Spearhead campaigns across North America to convey the unique capabilities and value of the Dynatrace platform and its impact on business outcomes.
  • Collaborate Internally and Externally: Work with internal partners (Sales, Customer Success, Services, Partner Leads, Marketing) and external collaborators (customers, partners) to conduct value realization studies and establish baselines.
  • Develop Value Propositions: Create and present compelling value propositions, proposals, and business cases, and track post-sales benefit realization for Dynatrace’s largest customers and opportunities. This often involves positioning these business cases to C-Suite level contacts alongside the sales team.
  • Identify and Deliver Business Value: Define, quantify, and deliver business value to prospects and current customers for upselling opportunities.
  • Enable Sales Teams: Drive sales team enablement to conduct engaging discovery interviews with IT teams, uncovering value outcomes and opportunity areas.
  • Track GOE Opportunities: Oversee the tracking of Salesforce opportunities to ensure proper value practice engagement and participation
  • Manage Value Model Framework: Maintain the underlying value model framework and develop new additions as value opportunities arise.
  • Collaborate on Enablement: Collaborate with the sales enablement team to create and deliver training materials for sales teams and the broader ecosystem.
  • Strategic Thinking: Understand Observability market and its impact on deal dynamics and think strategically about capitalizing on emerging opportunities.
  • Independent and Creative Work: Work independently and creatively to drive initiatives.
What will help you succeed

Minimum Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience in a strategic, customer‑facing role such as value consulting, management consulting, enterprise pre‑sales, strategy, or a related discipline
  • Demonstrated ability to quantify, articulate, and present business value, including developing ROI models, business cases, and value propositions
  • Proven experience engaging and influencing senior executive and C‑suite stakeholders in complex, enterprise environments
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical or financial field OR equivalent work experience; advanced degrees are a plus.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Strong consultative skill set, including discovery, analysis, quantitative modeling, and structured problem‑solving
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, with experience delivering compelling, data‑driven narratives
  • Strong business and financial acumen, with the ability to interpret financial documents and connect technology investments to business outcomes
  • Experience collaborating effectively across cross‑functional teams (e.g., Sales, Customer Success, Marketing, Services)
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple initiatives, and operate successfully in a fast‑paced environment

Compensation and Rewards
  • The base salary range for this role is $128,000- $160,000. When determining your salary, we consider your experience, skills, education, and work location.
  • Our total compensation package includes unlimited personal time off, an employee stock purchase plan, and a reward system.
  • We also offer medical/dental benefits, and a company matching 401(k) plan for retirement.
