Manage financial forecasting, capital modeling, and audits while ensuring compliance and strategic growth within the fintech sector. Partner with C-suite executives to maximize valuation.
Alt is unlocking the value of alternative assets, starting with the $5 B trading-card market. We let collectors buy, sell, vault, and finance their cards in one place and we are backed by leaders at Stripe, Coinbase, Seven Seven Six, and pro athletes like Tom Brady and Giannis Antetokounmpo. Our next frontier is real-time pricing at scale—the Alt Value that powers every trade, loan, and product on the platform.
North Star Metric: Burn Variance to Profitability Target.
Core Responsibilities:
1. Fiscal Control & Profitability
- Burn Management: Own the monthly burn forecast and maintain a <5% variance as we drive toward our June 30th net-zero target.
- Capacity Modeling: Develop and enforce ROI-based "Capacity Models" for every department to ensure headcount growth is strictly tied to revenue milestones.
- Procurement & Efficiency: Act as the internal lead on vendor management, auditing SaaS and hardware spend to identify and eliminate "Software Bloat"
2. Valuation Defense & Fundraising
- Tier-1 Modeling: Build and maintain the sophisticated financial models required to defend a tech-marketplace valuation (LTV/CAC, GMV Sensitivity, and Auction Take-Rate).
- Capital Access: Lead the financial modeling and due diligence required to secure a new Venture Debt line and prepare the company for a successful Series C.
- Investment Narrative: Translate complex internal data into clear financial narratives for the Board and prospective investors.
3. Audit & Institutional Governance
- Audit Ownership: Take immediate ownership of the 2024 audit, resolving historical bottlenecks and ensuring the company is 100% "Due Diligence Ready."
- Data Integrity: Collaborate with Engineering and Product to automate financial reporting and ensure data consistency across the platform.
- Risk Management: Evaluate financial exposure and implement the necessary internal controls to scale to 100+ employees.
4. Strategic Partnership
- Business Unit Support: Partner with our CEO and department heads to evaluate the ROI of new auction categories and marketplace initiatives.
- Resource Allocation: Develop capital allocation frameworks to ensure every dollar spent maximizes marketplace GMV and long-term valuation.
Requirements:
- Experience: 6+ years in Strategic Finance, Investment Banking, or FP&A, specifically within high-growth fintech or marketplace environments.
- Modeling Mastery: Expert-level skills in 3-statement integrated modeling (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
- Technical Proficiency: Strong SQL skills and experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau) to build automated "Source of Truth" dashboards.
- Communication: Ability to distill complex financial concepts into actionable insights for non-finance executives.
- Mindset: A "builder" mentality—you are comfortable doing the manual work in Q1 to build the automated systems needed for Q2 and beyond.
Compensation: $185,000 + Alt Equity
