Strategic Implementation Manager, Commercial Bank
We are seeking a highly strategic and results-focused Manager of Project Management to lead the development and execution of our Associate Experience (AX) strategy within the Commercial Bank. This role is a critical part of the Office of the President team, driving maximum impact and cultural transformation by bringing our Associate Imperative and associated pillars across Associate Experience, Development, Recognition and Engagement to life through coordinated TOH routines and initiatives across business and partner groups.
This role will apply strategic and analytical skills to Commercial Bank opportunities and cross-functional objectives, partnering with senior leaders and business Chiefs of Staff across Commercial to build a supportive, high-performing and deliberate environment. This is a cross-functional role that requires an exceptional blend of project management discipline, strategic thinking, and a deep focus on human capital investment and experience.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategy & Program Management: Lead end-to-end project management for large, horizontal programs spanning the Associate Imperative as well as cross-cutting Human Capital Initiatives and cross-Commercial objectives. This includes developing strategic roadmaps, implementation frameworks, and a coordinated approach to planning and delivery across stakeholders and partner groups.
  • Associate Experience (AX) Focus: Drive the strategy, analytics, and ongoing process management coordination for talent management, workforce & org planning, and associate engagement. This includes learning, recognition, and cultural initiatives as well as alignment to broader Geostrategy and human capital considerations.
  • Engagement & Culture: Develop and implement coordinated engagement strategies in alignment with Talent and Performance management cycles and objectives. Oversee multiple concurrent projects to strengthen the cultural fabric and ensure scaled opportunities for associates to co-create innovative transformation.
  • Development & Training: Drive coordinated implementation of scaled development programs and implementation frameworks. Drive step-change improvements in support of talent and performance management cycles, skill development, and coordinated delivery roadmaps; Support the creation of conditions to expand opportunities and support scaled and optimized best-in-class associate experiences.
  • Leadership & Partnership: May manage and develop a small team of associates, coaching and mentoring talent. Demonstrate outstanding communication and partnership skills essential for interacting with, managing, informing, and influencing key stakeholders, including senior Commercial leaders.
  • Operational Excellence: Improve processes and drive durability by creating playbooks, documentation, and processes that are repeatable across the organization.

  • Executive Communication: Impeccable written and oral communication, coupled with strategic influencing skills and the ability to proactively tailor communication for the identified audience.
  • People Leadership: Ability to build and leverage the capabilities of a high-performing team and foster innovation.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience.
  • At least 1 year of experience in project or process management
  • At least 1 year of experience in communications planning and development (department communications, presentations, reports)

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in business, finance, or organizational development
  • At least 2+ years of experience in project or process management
  • At least 2+ years of experience in communications planning and development
  • PMP, Lean, Agile, or Six Sigma certification
  • Previous consulting experience

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
Charlotte, NC: $138,100 - $157,700 for Manager, Project Management
McLean, VA: $151,900 - $173,400 for Manager, Project Management
Richmond, VA: $138,100 - $157,700 for Manager, Project Management
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
