Happen Bank (formerly LendingClub) is built around a simple purpose: to clear the way to help people turn intention into action, and action into financial progress. That means offering focused products, a frictionless mobile-first experience, and clear terms with no gotchas. Respect and fairness is part of our DNA, and that ideal shapes how we work, how we treat each other, and how we invest in our employees and our community. Join us in using data, bold thinking, and a commitment to innovation to help clear the way for millions of Americans to achieve more.

About the Role

Happen Bank's personal loan business runs on a small set of critical external partnerships, and this role owns how those relationships perform. You'll set the strategy behind partner growth, governance, and problem-solving, and lead the cross-functional work — spanning Product, Engineering, Credit, Risk, Operations, Compliance, Legal, Finance, and Analytics — that turns that strategy into results. As the team's work with partners grows more complex, you'll also be the one improving how we do it.

What You'll Do

  • Own performance and strategy for critical external partners, from business reviews to escalations to long-term planning
  • Set direction on partner initiatives that shape growth, credit performance, member experience, and compliance
  • Evaluate partner proposals on decisioning, verification, data sharing, and integration design, and drive the calls on what we prioritize and why
  • Build the business cases behind new partner strategies, sizing impact on approvals, conversion, fraud, losses, and cost
  • Lead cross-functional execution of partner-related change, and improve how that work gets done across teams
  • Turn strategy into clear business requirements, KPIs, and technical specs, using AI to move faster through analysis and stress-test your own thinking
  • Own partner performance reporting, evolving what we track as the portfolio and its risks change
  • Set the governance model for partners — decision rights, control points, and data-sharing boundaries

About You

  • 6+ years of experience in lending partnerships, product management, or analytics within consumer lending, fintech, or banking; bachelor's degree or higher, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Deep experience in personal loan product management or consumer credit decisioning platforms
  • A track record owning the personal loan funnel, from pre-screen through funding
  • Strong judgment under ambiguity — you structure fuzzy problems and drive decisions without waiting to be told the answer
  • Excellent communication skills and comfort presenting to senior stakeholders
  • The ability to influence across teams without formal authority
  • Working fluency with APIs, data flows, and technical integration, and comfort partnering with Engineering on how they're built
  • A solid grasp of data governance and third-party data-sharing risk
  • Hands-on use of AI to speed up your own work and a habit of showing others how — you know where it adds real value and where human judgment still has to lead, especially around data sensitivity and accuracy

Nice to Have

  • Experience in unsecured personal loans or adjacent consumer credit products
  • Experience with pre-screen or direct mail program management
