Strategic Project Manager

Metriport is an open-source data intelligence platform that helps healthcare organizations access and exchange patient data in real-time. We integrate with all major US healthcare IT systems and tap into comprehensive medical data for 300+ million individuals.

We've found product-market fit with multi-million ARR, 100+ customers (including Amazon One Medical, Strive Health, Circle Medical, and Brightside Health), backing from top VCs, and years of runway. We're ready to scale. We're a tight-knit, high-performing team of mostly former founders (including two YC alumni). We're engineering-heavy, operate with minimal bureaucracy and high autonomy, and hire based on competence, not prestige. We push hard—founders work six days a week from our SF office—but give everyone freedom to craft their schedule. We measure output and we're committed to sustainable intensity.

The Role

As the Strategic Project Manager, you will be tasked with owning multiple, long term healthcare projects that drive the business forward and will directly impact the experience of our customers. These projects will primarily focus on Metriport’s role in the broader healthcare interoperability landscape. You will navigate the legal, technical, and compliance frameworks that define the present and future of US health data exchange and ensure Metriport is positioned to support our customers’ needs.

You will be a highly collaborative individual contributor who identifies internal needs that can be solved via partnerships efforts. This team member will ruthlessly execute on strategic efforts at hand – ensuring high level alignment, coordination, and owning tactical steps. You'll be held accountable for achieving measurable results that enable our organization and customers to provide better care to their patients.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Project Leadership: Leading end-to-end execution of internal and external projects that require attention to detail and consideration of both national and state requirements.

  • Ruthless Prioritization: You can identify the most important item to focus resources on. You constantly ensure the most important task at hand is on track and that your priorities are aligned with the company’s needs.

  • Consensus Building: You can play up to the leadership level, identifying different stakeholders, their incentives, and how to ensure Metriport can accomplish its goals within existing constraints.

  • Forward Thinking: You think and see five steps ahead, identifying future blockers and ensuring they don’t exist when they would become problematic.

  • Problem Solving: Ability to work through hard problems with many constraints, using sound judgment to assess risks and lay out arguments in well-structured, data-informed narratives.

  • Applying Product Knowledge to Projects: Translating an understanding of our product (technical and non-technical components) into requirements and considerations within our strategic projects.

Requirements
  • Project Ownership: 3+ years of project management, business operations, or MBB consulting experience.

  • Healthcare Domain: 3+ years of experience within healthcare interoperability.

  • Organization: You turn chaos into concise clarity through incredible organization that keeps you, internal stakeholders, and external stakeholders on schedule. Missed deadlines keep you up at night.

  • Regulatory & Governance Fluency: Familiar with working in regulated industries and on projects that have significant governance requirements.

  • Autonomy: Comfortable taking an ambiguous objective, breaking it down to ensure alignment, identifying the most efficient way to accomplish it, and executing.

  • Peripheral Skills: You know enough about topics such as finance, data, compliance, and engineering to ask thoughtful questions and loop in the appropriate stakeholders when relevant.

  • Location: Based in San Francisco (or willing to relocate) to work from our South Beach office.

  • The "Metriport" Mindset: Low ego, high ownership. You are someone who asks "Why can't this be done in 3 days?" instead of 3 weeks.

Benefits
  • Equity: Competitive equity + compensation package 🚀

  • Healthcare: Full family Platinum health insurance, dental, and vision coverage 🦷

  • Retirement: 401(k) retirement plan + matching 💰

  • Flexibility: Flexible work from home or in-office 🏢

  • Food: Healthy lunches complimentary when in-office (and breakfast + dinners as needed) 🍏

  • Team: Quarterly company off-sites with the team ⛷️

  • Gear: MacBook provided by us 💻

  • PTO: Unlimited PTO (we work hard, but trust you to take the time you need to be at your best) 🧘‍♂️

Metriport provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, genetics, sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression.
