About The Role

The Strategic Sourcing & Procurement Manager is responsible for building and owning G2’s procurement function as a single owner. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role encompassing vendor management across all our annual software and services spend. The role is critical due to G2’s recent acquisition of Capterra, Software Advice, and GetApp, which has created a portfolio of entangled legacy contracts requiring disentanglement and renegotiation, expanding shared services tooling needs, and cross-functional teams spending significant time on vendor negotiations. This role partners cross-functionally with Legal, IT, Engineering, Product, and Marketing to centralize procurement, drive cost savings, and bring discipline to how G2 buys and manages software and services.

In This Role, You Will:

Gartner Digital Markets Integration (Immediate Priority) – 30%

  • Lead the disentanglement of legacy contracts, negotiating new standalone agreements for G2

  • Manage vendor transitions under TSA (Transition Services Agreement) timelines and compliance requirements

  • Partner with Legal and IMO teams to ensure clean separation of entangled vendor relationships

Vendor Management & Contract Lifecycle – 30%

  • Build and own G2’s centralized procurement function as the single dedicated procurement professional at G2.

  • Own the full contract lifecycle: sourcing, negotiation, execution, renewal tracking, and termination

  • Manage vendor contract review, redlining, and standard terms negotiation in partnership with departments (Engineering, Product, Marketing, Legal, Corporate Services)

  • Run competitive RFP processes and negotiate volume and multi-year discounts, leveraging combined entity scale

  • Manage the expanding shared services tooling portfolio (HRIS, finance systems, security tools, dev tools) across the integrated organization

  • Enforce procurement governance, including approval thresholds, vendor onboarding standards, and purchase policy compliance.

Strategic Initiatives – 25%

  • Support centralized tracking of AI tool spend and ROI measurement across the procurement portfolio

  • Identify and execute vendor consolidation opportunities, eliminating duplicate and overlapping tools

  • Build vendor performance scorecards and establish procurement policies and approval workflows

  • Develop spend analytics and reporting on vendor spend trends.

  • Prevent value leakage from auto-renewals, unfavorable terms, and unmanaged tail spend

Cross-Functional Stakeholder Management – 15%

  • Work cross-functionally with Legal, IT, Engineering, Product, and Marketing to centralize procurement processes.

Minimum Qualifications:

We realize applying for jobs can feel daunting at times. Even if you don’t check all the boxes in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyway.

  •  8+ years of experience in procurement, vendor management, or strategic sourcing

  • Demonstrated track record of negotiating SaaS and technology vendor contracts with measurable cost savings

  • Experience managing contract lifecycle end-to-end, including renewals, terminations, and RFP processes

  • Strong analytical skills with ability to build spend analyses and savings models

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills — ability to work with every department

  • Comfort operating independently and building processes from scratch in a fast-paced environment

What Can Help Your Application Stand Out:
  •  Experience in B2B SaaS or technology companies

  • Exposure to M&A integration, including contract disentanglement and transition services agreements

  • Familiarity with AI/ML tooling landscape and emerging technology procurement

  • Experience with procurement platforms or contract management systems (Zip is a plus)

  • Background in working cross-functionally with Legal, Finance, and IT teams

  • Knowledge of international vendor management (G2 operates globally with entities in multiple countries)
