DLA Piper is, at its core, bold, exceptional, collaborative and supportive.  Our people are the backbone, heart and soul of our firm.  Wherever you are in your professional journey, DLA Piper is a place you can engage in meaningful work and grow your career.  Let’s see what we can achieve. Together.

Summary

DLA Piper’s Strategy & Ops function sits under the COO/CFO and exists to turn ambiguous, high-stakes problems into decisions and execution that move the business forward, especially when the issue is cross-functional in nature and does not otherwise have a clear owner. The department is empowered by senior leadership to pursue and deliver opportunities that are too important for the Firm, too messy, and too cross-cutting to sit cleanly in one function. Strategy & Ops is designed to bring direction and momentum in situations that otherwise lack both.

The Strategy & Operations Analyst supports the Strategy & Ops function by providing analytical rigor, execution horsepower, and structured problem‑solving across the Firm’s highest‑priority initiatives. The role is a core engine of the team—turning questions into insights, plans into action, and complexity into clarity.

This role is ideal for someone early in their strategy or operations career who is eager to gain exposure to executive‑level work, cross‑functional collaboration, and enterprise‑scale initiatives in a lean, high‑impact environment.
Location

This position can sit in any of our US office locations and offers a hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis to support strategic and operational decisions (e.g., business cases, option assessments, process diagnostics).

  • Analyze business processes, business performance, identify trends, and surface insights using quantitative and qualitative data.

  • Synthesize complex information into clear, decision‑ready insights.

  • Support tracking and measurement of initiative progress, risks, and outcomes.

  • Conduct ad hoc analyses to address emerging business questions and opportunities.

  • Document findings and recommendations clearly, tailoring messages to different stakeholder audiences.

  • Support Strategy & Ops Managers in building project plans, timelines, materials, and governance artifacts.

  • Prepare meeting materials, meeting minutes, status updates, action trackers, and executive summaries.

  • Help coordinate working sessions and follow‑ups across cross‑functional teams.

  • Partner with functional teams to improve processes, operating models, and ways of working.

  • Support the Strategy & Ops department with ad hoc requests as needed.

  • Help develop and maintain templates, playbooks, and standard approaches for recurring initiative types.

  • Develop dashboards, models, and executive-ready materials to inform leadership decisions.

  • Leverage AI tools to accelerate research, drafting, documentation, and reporting.

  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and reduce manual effort.

  • Perform market, competitor, and best‑practice research relevant to Firm initiatives.

  • Compile and synthesize external benchmarks, industry trends, and internal data.

  • Managers and leaders rely on the Analyst for accurate, timely, and well‑structured support.

  • Analyses are trusted, concise, and clearly linked to decisions.

  • Execution runs more smoothly because details are handled proactively.
