JOB DESCRIPTION

KTVU FOX 2 San Francisco is seeking a Streaming Producer with strong technical instincts and a deep understanding of digital-first news production. This role is centered on live streaming, social video, and platform-native storytelling. You will be responsible for producing, managing, and optimizing live and on-demand content across FOX LOCAL connected TV and mobile apps, as well as all major social platforms, ensuring coverage is fast, accurate, visually compelling, and technically sound.

Reporting to newsroom leadership, the ideal candidate is fluent in the mechanics of streaming production and social/digital distribution, CTV, and understands how audiences consume news outside of linear TV with a balance of speed, quality, and journalistic integrity. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in a live environment and wants to build the future of local news.

Does This Sound Like You?

If you are a news junkie but no longer get your news from traditional television and instead turn to live streams, social video, and your phone for breaking news and real-time updates, this role is built for you.

You must be digitally native, technically confident, and calm under pressure. You need to understand streaming workflows, live video production, and best practices for digital and social platforms. Strong news judgment, close attention to detail, and smart editorial and technical decision-making are a must. You need to thrive in collaborating across teams, experimenting with new formats, and using data to improve performance. If you excel at creating content that reaches audiences where they are and keeps them coming back, we want you to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Produce and manage live streaming coverage of breaking news, live events, press conferences, and original programming for FOX LOCAL apps and social platforms.

  • Operate and oversee streaming production tools, including live switching, encoding, clipping, publishing, and real-time troubleshooting.

  • Create platform-native digital and social video content, including live clips, short-form video, graphics, and text-based storytelling optimized for mobile & CTV consumption.

  • Distribute and optimize content across the FOX LOCAL apps, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook, and emerging platforms with an emphasis on growth and audience engagement.

  • Collaborate with newsroom, digital, social, and production teams to align coverage, workflows, and priorities across platforms.

  • Monitor real-time analytics, audience behavior, and trending topics to inform editorial and production decisions before, during, and after live streams.

  • Ensure all content meets journalistic standards, legal requirements, and FOX group guidelines for quality, accuracy, and consistency.

  • Participate in ongoing testing and refinement of streaming formats, tools, and workflows.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Journalism, Communications, Media Production, TV/Film production, or a related field with a digital focus.

  • 3 or more years of experience producing digital video, live streams, or social-first news content; newsroom experience strongly preferred.

  • Strong technical proficiency with live streaming workflows, including video switching, live publishing, clipping, and distribution.

  • Hands-on experience with video editing tools and production software; Adobe Creative Suite experience is a plus.

  • Demonstrated understanding of social media platforms, video formats, and audience behavior across digital ecosystems.

  • Experience using analytics tools to measure performance and adjust content strategy in real time.

  • Excellent editorial judgment, writing skills, and attention to detail in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams.

  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and non-traditional hours as news demands.

We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, gender identity, disability, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. We will consider for employment qualified applicants with criminal histories consistent with applicable law.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $110,000.00-112,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents.
