About the Team:

The Manufacturing team at Relativity Space is currently deep in manufacturing trades and process development for Terran R, our next generation, reusable rocket. This team has a wide variety of responsibilities—from determining the most efficient factory floor layout, to developing and implementing complex tooling and processes, and even interfacing with the vehicle engineering team to heavily influence the design of the rocket. Unique to Relativity, you will get to work across many teams to iterate and support development of the vehicle program.

This role will be for our Second Shift Supervisor role with the hours of 3:00 PM PST -  1:30 AM PST.

About the Role:

In this role, the structures supervisor will be responsible for leading a team of technicians in completing all mechanical assembly processes for barrels, domes, and thrust structure hardware. The processes this supervisor will be responsible for will be precision hole drilling, fastener installation including hiloks, and structural bonding. Within these processes, this supervisor is accountable for maintaining high quality standards, meeting production schedules, and implementing process improvements. This supervisor will also need to be able to drive an inclusive team environment for technicians reporting to them as well as with our cross functional partners such as engineering, quality, and production control.

  • Execute production schedules across all structural assemblies
  • Help establish process standards and hold technician team accountable to these processes to ensure quality is maintained
  • Mentor technician team by providing timely feedback, conducting performance reviews, identifying talent gaps, and conducting regular 1:1s
  • Communicate daily/weekly progress to upper management including any blockers with proposed solutions
  • Lead hiring initiatives to grow the team to meet our Terran R production rate
  • Foster a team culture that supports honesty, transparency, and accountability

About You:

  • 3+ years experience in aerospace manufacturing leadership experience at or above the supervisor level with a track record of executing aggressive production schedules
  • 3+ years experience in structural assembly; including skills such as precision drilling, hilok installation, and structural bonding
  • 3+ years experience with rigging and crane operations with the ability to act as a lift director
  • Experience partnering with cross functional team such as manufacturing engineering, quality, and production control
  • Self starter with a demonstrated ability to take full ownership of the production areas under their span of control
  • Previous track record of helping scale work centers and production processes

Nice to haves, but not required:

    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office products and/or Smartsheets

Hiring Range:
$118,000$163,000 USD
