We are looking for a Supplier Quality Manager for the Austin Business Center within the Countermeasure & Electromagnetic Attack Solutions Business Area. This role will lead the ABC Supplier Quality team and develop a comprehensive strategy in partnership with BA/PL counterparts to ensure compliant material is delivered on-time. The Austin Business Center supports all Business Areas withing the Electronic Systems Sector. The ideal candidate must have prior management experience, and will be managing a team of approximately 6-8 engineers.
This position will include approximately 10% travel. Travel will be a mix of local, day visits as well as overnight travel, outside the local area.
The Role will:
  • Lead and manage supplier quality performance across the Austin Business Center inclusive of the expansion and scaling that is ongoing in the organization
  • Work in a fast-paced, high-production environment with tight deadlines and high production volumes, as well as a highly complex technical environment with stringent customer regulations and oversight
  • Manage team of approximately 6-8 SQEs including developing individuals and implementing quality training for all team members.
  • Provide technical direction and guidance to SQEs on the team ensuring consistency and compliance with quality standards
  • Collaborate with engineering, supply chain, operations, and program quality to identify part and supplier risk for proactive mitigation activities, as well as to drive solutions to complex technical challenges.
  • Utilize supplier Scorecards/metrics and analytical tools to quantify performance levels of individual suppliers and work with those suppliers to develop improvement plans to achieve 100% quality performance
  • Analyze quality data and metrics to identify trends and opportunities for improvement, and support/implement corrective actions as needed across the supply base
  • Support AS9145 deployment in key suppliers to mitigate program risks.
  • Drive "Zero Defect" culture within the supply base
The successful candidate:
  • Experience in a fast-paced high-production environment with tight deadlines and high production volumes
  • Experience with complex technical requirements and customer regulations
  • A self-starting problem solver; able to make effective decisions with minimal information
  • Strong organization skills - able to prioritize and understand what needs to be done quickly, and drive actions and projects to closure effectively across the team.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills to facilitate effective communication at all levels of the organization and across customers and partner communities
  • Possesses a strong understanding of Quality Science tools (APQP/PPAP, 8D RCCA, Statistical Process Controls, Lean Six Sigma, Sampling and Inspection, FAI/PPV) along with relevant industry standards and their application to drive execution excellence
  • Relates well with individuals at all levels of the organization, builds appropriate rapport, fosters constructive and effective relationships
  • Passion for developing others and building cohesive team environment

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Bachelor's Degree and 6-8+ years of related experience or 10-12+ years of related expereince in lieu of degree
  • Prior managerial experience in a technical industry
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as technical drawings, specifications, requirements
  • Excellent project management, planning, and organization skills
  • Strong communicator capable of working through complex issues with peers, management and multiple functions
  • Proficient in MS Office Products including Word, Excel, Power Point
  • Experience in 8D/RCCA activities as well as working knowledge of APQP/AS9145
  • Experience with requirements management and flow down
  • Ability to make decisions using sound judgment while complying with policies, procedures, appropriate principles and applicable state and federal laws and regulations

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Technical BS degree with 8+ years of experience, or MS degree with 6+ years of experience
  • PPV/FAI experience
  • LSS Green Belt
  • Working knowledge of AS9100 or equivalent Quality Management Systems

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $132962 - $226035
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
