Job Summary

Support the Producer and Marketing Account Executive (MAE), as applicable, by marketing and servicing new and renewal business. Effectively manage a book of businesses containing selected accounts requiring a high level of expertise and client service. Mentor Team Support and assist the Client Service Manager with procedural training for new employees. Maintain knowledge of applicable coverages, carrier guidelines, underwriting and legislative changes to support strong relationships with clients and carrier representatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly to client requests related to bonds, certificates, invoicing, underwriting, and other departmental functions; delegate and monitor follow-up as needed.
  • Resolve complex client issues personally to ensure managerial-level service.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and company personnel; escalate concerns to the Producer/MAE as appropriate.
  • Track account expiration dates and coordinate renewal plans with the MAE and Producer.
  • Review contracts and bond requests for onerous terms; involve the MAE or Producer as necessary.
  • Assist the MAE and Producer in gathering information from clients and carriers for new and existing accounts.
  • Prepare and review forms for accuracy and completeness.
  • Independently handle marketing activities for commercial accounts, including:
    • New business placement
    • Remarketing
    • Difficult risk placement
    • Negotiations on capacity, rates, and commissions
  • Prepare and issue bid bonds, final bonds, letters of intent, consents, and other documents accurately.
  • Proofread bond forms; process riders and reporting forms; initiate corrections as needed.
  • Maintain agency management system data, invoicing, accounting records, and files in an organized manner.
  • Manage supply orders for forms and powers.
  • Support training and development of Team Support personnel; assign tasks and monitor progress.
  • Collect outstanding premiums within 60 days; notify the Producer of overdue accounts.
  • Keep the MAE and Producer informed of commission changes and totals throughout the year.
  • Model adherence to company procedures and support team members.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and related training
  • Two (2) years of relevant Surety industry experience
  • Appropriate insurance license(s)
  • Strong client relations skills, including: Excellent communication skills and service orientation, cooperative nature and tactfulness in resolving client and company problems
  • Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Ability to travel, occasionally overnight

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree Certification in field of endeavor Experience with Requests for Proposal (RFPs)

Other Job Requirements / Working Conditions

Availability

  • Able to work all scheduled hours, including overtime as directed by manager/supervisor and as required by business need.

Travel

  • Up to 25%

The applicable base salary range for this role is $64,700 to $120,400.

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
