Job Description:

The SVP, Managing Director (MD) is entrusted with a client book of business including some or all defined contribution (401k), defined benefit (pension), health/welfare administration, and other related products and services. Primary contact for the client and works in a team structure which is collectively responsible for leading, educating, resolving client issues, establishing relationships and meeting the needs of Plan Sponsors and other Employee Benefits leader contacts. Focuses on understanding and responding to client needs. In this position you assume a consultative role to acquire a clear understanding of the business need and the client’s perception of relevant issues. Ensure client happiness by seeking feedback and anticipate issues and/or concerns to proactively provide solutions.

CANDIDATE MAY BE LOCATED REMOTELY IN TEXAS, CHICAGO, COVINGTON, KY OR WEST COAST

 

The Expertise and Skills You Have

  • College degree preferred and/or equivalent work-related experience.
  • Series 7 & 63 must be obtained post hire.
  • 10+ years of benefits outsourcing relationship management or client service experience; preferably within 401(k) & non- qualified plan administration, Pension administration, Equity Plan services, Health/Welfare administration, and more.
  • Validated relationship management experience: you have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possess excellent organization, time leadership skills, and attention to detail.
  • Tried problem-solving skills in sophisticated situations.
  • Effective presentation skills, influence and negotiation skills, and ability to deliver solutions to a variety of audiences & levels is key.
  • Developing, leading and maintaining strong client relationships, including at senior/executive levels.
  • Building positive relationships based on shared dedication to mutual goals. Sets the strategic direction for the plan and demonstrates ultimate ownership and accountability for the overall client relationship. Acts as the client’s 'trusted advisor'.
  • Builds client relationship to the highest level of decision makers.
  • Plans and conducts effective in-person and/or virtual meetings.
  • Makes detailed plans and preparations for client meetings.
  • Accurately plans, influences, and implements Fidelity solutions to address a client’s needs.
  • Differentiates Fidelity's benefits offerings against a competitive benefit solution(s).
  • Facilitates discussions with clients regarding legal, regulatory and design issues across the plan(s) and relationship.
  • Coordinates internal resources to provide analysis and recommendations to clients on a variety of alternatives, including design, product development, etc
  • Identifies key drivers and maintains consistent formal/informal contact with key client decision makers.
  • Works closely and actively leads discussions with Investment Consulting to create effective investment strategies and develop solutions that benefit clients/Fidelity.
  • Owns the client relationships for which they are accountable, which includes problem resolution on behalf of clients to produce a satisfactory outcome.
  • The MD is considered the lead associate for a Book of Business with supporting functions (various extended service team members) providing outcomes as a collective service team in support of the client and their employees.
  • Building and developing strong internal working relationships with Fidelity personnel in support of superior service delivery.

The base salary range for this position is $160,000.00-$185,000.00 per year.  
Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.
Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.​
