We are seeking a skilled and proactive System Engineer with strong cyber security competence to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, management, and ongoing improvement of secure IT and OT systems, ensuring a robust security posture. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to align system engineering best practices with cyber security requirements, supporting both project and operational environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain secure IT/OT systems and networks, in accordance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Assess existing system architectures and recommend enhancements to improve security and reliability.
- Collaborate with security, operations, and development teams to integrate security at all stages of the system lifecycle.
- Participate in threat modeling, risk assessments, vulnerability management, and security reviews.
- Develop and maintain documentation related to system configurations, security controls, incident response plans, and operational procedures.
- Coordinate and participate in incident detection, response, and recovery activities.
- Oversee deployment, configuration, and management of security tools (e.g., SIEM, endpoint protection, firewalls, IDS/IPS).
- Conduct regular system and network audits to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR).
- Stay up-to-date with the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, mitigation strategies, and technology trends.
- Support training and awareness initiatives for technical and non-technical staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience as a System Engineer, preferably with a focus on cyber security.
- Strong understanding of computer networks, operating systems (Windows, Linux), virtualization, and cloud environments.
- Familiarity with security frameworks, standards, and best practices.
- Hands-on experience with security solutions (antivirus, IDS/IPS, DLP, firewalls, SIEM, etc.)
- Knowledge of scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python) is a plus.
- Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, CompTIA Security+, or similar are highly desirable.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience in critical infrastructure, defense, or regulated industries.
- Expertise in secure software development practices (DevSecOps).
- Experience with security compliance programs and audits.
