Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) seeks a Systems Engineer to serve as a SEIT Engineer on our Defense and Space Systems team in Heath (Columbus), OH where we are expanding in system design, development, integration and test of aircraft, missile, weapons, and autonomous Guidance Navigation and Control (GNC).
The InterContinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Minuteman III Guidance Engineering team is looking for motivated, talented engineers to join this robust long-term program. The selected engineer's product responsibilities will include providing Design Authority engineering change support for a large Test Equipment, Tool, Jig, and Fixture project.
Position Responsibilities Include:
  • Ability to use Systems Thinking to understand the big picture and the inter-relationships of all positions and activities in the system, including the impact of changes in one area on another area. This includes the ability to see and understand the inter-relationships between components of systems and plans, anticipate future events, and apply the principles of systems thinking to accelerate performance.
  • Interpret, analyze, and develop engineering data (blueprints, data sets, specifications, logic diagrams, electrical circuit schematics, ...) to support requirements. Collect, organize, synthesize, and analyze data; summarize findings; develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources.
  • Communicate with technical personnel from multiple skill areas and functions - such as electrical, mechanical, and systems - to evaluate technical information and issues impacting design, production, and support of products, services, or other deliverables.
  • Support troubleshooting, fault isolation, repair, modification, or redesign for assigned end items to support the design, development, and modification of products using knowledge of engineering disciplines.
  • Apply knowledge of inertial guidance navigation and control (GNC) to support system sustainment.
  • Support product lifecycle, including manufacturing, deployment, modification, aging and continued service, and disposal
  • Support Engineering Change oversight of electronics and electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • Apply engineering analyses such as mechanical, electrical, avionics, design, circuit, systems, stress, structural, durability.
  • Help identify a customer's organization, capabilities, practices, support resources, preferences, problems, and other constraints in order to provide effective product support and technical issue resolution.
  • Analyze systems via mathematical modeling and simulation (M&S), design of experiments (DOE), operations research, ...
  • Provide products and services that meet the highest technical and quality standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies and processes, and that embrace first-time quality as a way of life - not accepting, creating, or passing any defects; and speaking up.

This position is expected to be fully onsite in Heath, OH.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • The ability to get a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
  • Minimum years of related experience: 1+ for level 2, 3+ for level 3.
  • Experience in requirements development, verification, validation, risk, issues, and opportunities management.
  • Experience working with Systems Thinking.
  • If not already within commuting distance of Heath, OH, willingness and ability to relocate at your own expense.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Experience with electro-mechanical hardware Test Equipment lifecycle support.
  • Experience applying industry and company standards to system and subsystem requirement documentation.
  • Experience working with USAF or other government agencies.
  • Experience with creation, change, and baseline control of Hardware and Test equipment system requirements.

Associate (level 2): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Experienced (level 3): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary Pay Range
Associate (level 2): $91,800 to $124,200
Experienced (level 3): $112,200 to $151,800
