Backend Engineer

• Lead or own the design of large subsystems and drive the implementations

• Follow the best software development practices, and hold the high engineering bar for the team by regularly leading design, code review and test plan reviews

• Incorporate excellence in reliability, scalability, and performance in the design of distributed systems

• Participate in on-call rotations, post-incident reviews, and other operational duties to ensure service delivery quality

• Participate in customer and design partner discussions, develop a deep understanding of customer problems and incorporate those in system design

• 4+ years of relevant industry experience with a bachelor’s degree; or 2+ years and a master’s degree

• Strong skills in building and deploying robust backend and storage services, emphasizing scalability and high performance in high-concurrency environments.

• Experienced with cloud platforms (especially AWS) and Kubernetes, with a strong understanding of databases and messaging systems for secure, scalable cloud-native applications

• Strong ability and desire to lead the creation and implementation of customer-facing features from start to finish, prioritizing users and owning customer success

• Eager to deepen expertise in AI, with a keen interest and some experience in developing applications powered by Large Language Models (LLM)
