Job Purpose

The Talent Acquisition Specialist I is responsible for the recruitment and selection of top talent in order to meet Jackson's hiring needs. Responsibilities include providing high-level client service to key stakeholders in an effort to identify, attract and evaluate both active and passive candidates for entry and mid-level positions. The Talent Acquisition Specialist serves as a key partner to the business; effectively consulting with clients to understand hiring needs, present qualified candidates, and provide hiring recommendations and solutions. Promotes Jackson's reputation as a "best in class" employer, emphasizing core values critical to the continued success of the company.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Performs full-life cycle recruiting responsibilities which include: sourcing, screening, interviewing, evaluating and hiring potential candidates for entry and mid-level positions.

  • Effectively manages details in the recruiting process to ensure a positive experience for both candidates and clients (e.g. scheduling of interviews/testing, providing interview and recruitment materials, soliciting/providing feedback in a timely and professional manner, etc.).

  • Works closely in partnership with hiring managers to identify business needs and position requirements; provides effective recruitment strategies based on job requirements.

  • Utilizes appropriate sourcing tools/techniques to meet recruitment needs (e.g. social media networks, advertising, employee referrals, employment agencies, associations, and recruiting events).

  • Develops pipeline of talent for frequently filled, ongoing openings.

  • Screens/interviews candidates to identify and evaluate pay requirements, skills, experience and fit within the company.

  • Evaluates candidate qualifications against requirements of open positions to determine a match.

  • Provides feedback to hiring managers based on criteria used in the evaluation process; provides recommendations as appropriate.

  • Communicates company benefits and employment opportunities to candidates in the recruiting process.

  • Collaborates with HR Business Consultants and management to ensure appropriate communication and coordination across business functions.

  • Prepares job postings, in alignment with HR partners, to post to on online recruitment sites.

  • Ensures proactive communication with key stakeholders, sharing updates, challenges and opportunities, while providing recommendations and solutions.

  • Performs other duties and/or projects as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent client service orientation; ability to provide high level client-focused support in collaboration with business partners to accomplish recruiting goals.

  • Knowledge of the full life cycle recruiting process; strong interviewing and candidate evaluation skills.

  • High level of detail orientation; effectively manages details for all activities that occur throughout the recruiting process.

  • Strong verbal/written communication and consulting skills.

  • Ability to effectively consult, manage customer expectations and build strong relationships.

  • Ability to identify and utilize a wide range of sourcing techniques — online social networking (e.g. LinkedIn), internet tools, professional associations, external recruitment firms, etc.

  • Strong time management skills with the ability to generate a high volume of qualified candidates and fill positions within tight timeframes.

  • Highly motivated with the ability to proactively identify hiring solutions for business needs.

  • Ability to project a positive and professional image for Jackson.

  • Solid organizational, multi-tasking and problem solving skills.

  • Strong ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience and education required.

  • 1+ years of recruiting experience strongly preferred.

  • Experience supporting high volume hiring preferred.

  • Experience with applicant tracking systems (e.g. Workday, Taleo, etc). preferred.

  • University/college recruiting experience preferred.
