As a Tax Analyst II, you play a key role in supporting Rocket's federal tax compliance and tax accounting functions. - Prepare and analyze book-to-tax adjustments and supporting workpapers used to calculate taxable income for multiple legal entities on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Coordinate with accounting and finance teams to gather, validate, and analyze financial data required for tax compliance and tax accounting activities.
- Support the preparation and review of federal and state income tax returns ensuring timely and accurate filings.
- Assist with quarterly and annual income tax provision calculations in accordance with ASC 740, including current and deferred tax analyses.
- Research and document federal and state tax issues, regulations, and legislation to support compliance and planning activities.
- Prepare responses to tax notices and assist with federal and state income tax audits as needed.
- Maintain tax records, workpapers, and supporting documentation in accordance with internal controls and compliance requirements.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of tax experience within a public accounting firm or corporate tax department.
- Experience supporting federal and/or state income tax compliance and tax return preparation.
- Experience with income tax provisions and ASC 740.
- Experience utilizing tax compliance and provision software such as OneSource, CorpTax, or similar platforms.
- Foundational knowledge of tax accounting concepts, including book-to-tax differences.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to federal income tax audits, tax research, or tax planning activities.
- Experience with tax research platforms such as Thomson Reuters Checkpoint, Bloomberg Tax, or CCH.
- Familiarity with Alteryx, automation tools, AI-enabled solutions, or other technologies used to improve tax processes.
- CPA certification or progress toward CPA licensure.
- Master's degree in Taxation or Accounting.
