What You Will Do:

Tasks range from developing analysts and vendors, developing leading and managing the team's day-to-day activities and support processes to providing guidance on platform configurations and policies. Other duties include, but not limited to:
- Enterprise DevOps Process Owner/Leader - GitHub, DevOpsTools & AI acceleration for Development
- Hosting and managing common developer tools for enterprise use
- Oversee operational support team members
- Agile Scrum lead for the team - roadmaping and delegation
- Assisting developers in integrating with source code management and other various developer tools
- Supporting projects to migrate from legacy components to supported technology
- Creating and refining policies to ensure effective and secure usage of development tools within Caterpillar
- Coaching and communicating information to Caterpillar's development community
- Participating on special projects as a source code management and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) Subject Matter Expert
- Researching future developer tool related products/versions. Guide in evaluating, selecting and utilizing new and existing tools and technique
- Leading the future DevSecOps Tooling strategy
What You Have:
- Require an accredited, four-year Information Technology degree, a closely related technical degree, OR 7 years of equivalent work-related experiences with an Associates Degree.
- Supervisory/Team leadership and work delegation experience
- Ability to work well with a geographically distributed team
- Ability to quickly learn new technologies and apply them with an enterprise perspective
- Ability to act in a self-directed manner, independently researching tools/libraries/technologies or solving a problem with minimal oversight and instructions
- Excellent communication skills (in English) to persuade others to use recommended practices and technologies
- A strength in source code management strategies using Git and other popular tools.
- A clear understanding the Software Development Life Cycle
- Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery.
- A familiarity with web development in either Java or .NET - Minimum 5-7 years of development experience
- An understanding of modern web development security threats and security best practices
- Collaborating across teams to consolidate and simplify DevOps tools and services
Top Candidates Will Also Have:
- Experience with GitLab, Azure DevOps, GitHub Enterprise Cloud
- GitHub Copilot experience - 2yrs
- Experience with SonarQube and JFrog Artifactory
- Experience with SQL Server and Snowflake
- A familiarity with administering Linux or Windows Servers
- Experience with Windows PowerShell, Python or other popular scripting languages.

- This position may require 10% travel.
