At Title Nine, we are a direct-to-consumer, women-owned and women-led apparel company. We create high-performance gear and clothing for women who move, sweat, and lead. We don't just sell apparel; we champion women in sports, business, and life.
We are looking for a Tech Design Specialist to support the technical development of Title Nine’s in-house brand, turning design concepts into accurate, manufacturable products. Reporting to the Technical Design Manager, this role builds and maintains tech packs and BOMs, supports 3D development, documents fit sessions and sample measurements, and is the day-to-day owner of data integrity in the OnBrand PLM system. We are looking for a curious, detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Technical Development
Build and maintain accurate tech packs and Bills of Materials (BOMs) for new styles in partnership with Design, Materials and Product Development.
Support 3D product development in Browzwear by constructing and updating virtual garments.
Measure samples, evaluate specifications against tolerances, and proactively surface and resolve discrepancies.
Update specification sheets and grade rules under the direction of the Technical Design Manager.
Evaluate garments holistically across styles, collections and fabric groups to support consistent quality.
OnBrand PLM and Data Integrity
Own day-to-day data accuracy in OnBrand PLM: create and maintain styles, tech packs, BOMs, materials, colorways, sample records and development documentation.
Maintain seasonal calendar dates, workflow tasks and sample tracking (including all proto, PP and TOP samples) so status is accurate and current for the whole team.
Run routine audits for incomplete, duplicated or out-of-date records and correct them or escalate as needed.
Support vendor and internal users with basic PLM questions and flag recurring issues or system needs.
Fit Sessions and Carryover Fits
Prepare for and document fit sessions: pull and press samples, record measurements, capture comments and photos, and issue clear fit comments to vendors on the agreed schedule.
Verify carryover styles against the approved specification and the prior season’s measurements at re-order, flag any deviation, and document approved changes in OnBrand so each style’s history is complete and traceable.
Reporting and Customer Fit Feedback
Compile the data behind the monthly return rate report: pull return and return-reason data by style, category and vendor and prepare it for the Technical Design Manager’s analysis.
Gather fit-related customer call-outs from customer service and review channels, log them against the relevant style, and summarize recurring themes.
Execute the resulting specification, tech pack and PLM updates, and confirm the change with the vendor.
Collaboration
Collaborate cross-functionally with Design, Materials, Sourcing and Tech Design leadership to meet key development milestones.
Communicate clearly and promptly with overseas vendor partners on specifications, measurements and sample status.
Practice good housekeeping for the workstation, sample room and general office space.
Adhere to Title Nine safety policies.
Perform other job duties or responsibilities as assigned by the needs of the business, with or without notice.
Solid understanding of garment construction, patternmaking concepts and performance apparel.
Proficiency in Mac OS, Microsoft Office (especially Excel), Google Workspace and Adobe Illustrator.
Familiarity with 3D design software (e.g., Browzwear VStitcher) and PLM systems is a strong plus; training on OnBrand will be provided.
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and measurement.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple styles and deadlines at once.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including communicating technical detail clearly to overseas manufacturers.
A proactive, collaborative mindset with the adaptability to thrive on a close-knit team.
A passion for outdoor sports or fitness is a plus, since we test and evaluate our own products.
Ability to meet all safety and physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
Degree or certification in apparel design, technical design, product development or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
1–2 years of apparel industry experience (entry-level technical design, product development, or internships).
Exposure to woven and knit apparel; performance apparel or swim a plus.
