The Technical Analyst will oversee EDW administration, provide production support, implement upgrades, and ensure compliance within the organization's technical projects.
Job Summary & Responsibilities
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Technical Analyst will work on a variety of technical projects in the Cloudera Data Platform (CDP) on-premises environments. This individual will be required to work with vendors, business, and IT areas to develop solutions from design through implementation. This position is responsible for administration, on-call support, and maintenance of the Enterprise Data Warehouses (EDW).
Essential Job Functions:
1) EDW Administration
- Responsible for the overall health and performance of the on-premises Enterprise Data Warehouses from an administrative perspective
- Monitors and owns all changes with servers, services, hardware, software, access, space consumption, passwords, certificates, connectivity, and more within the EDW environments.
- Designs, plans, and implement upgrades for the EDW environments and infrastructure.
- Plans, coordinates, and communicates monthly OS patching with Linux administrators, EDW developers, and users. Ensures services are fully restored after patching completes.
- Develops all scripting or processes via SDLC, leveraging change management framework, code repositories, detailed documentation and runbooks.
- Maintains overall disaster recovery plans and participates in recovery drills.
- Research and remediate software vulnerabilities.
- Adheres to and enforces SOC1 and SOC2 compliance requirements.
2) Production Support:
- Provide on-call support to the EDW environment.
- Responds and resolves Service Now incidents.
- Research and resolve production problems.
- Aid in troubleshooting issues with EDW users.
- Provide assistance to business areas using EDW to support their processes.
3) Other tasks assigned by management
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Must be able to obtain/maintain 6C Security Clearance.
- 7+ years overall IT experience
- 5+ years of Linux experience focused on administration.
- 5-7 years of Cloudera Hadoop Administration experience (CDP)
- 3-5 years of open-source technology administration with Apache Airflow, Spark, and Iceberg
- 3-5 years of SQL Administration Experience (Hive, Impala, SQL Server, Postgres, MySQL, or any other SQL Languages)
- 5+ years of Python experience
- Must be able to demonstrate their ability to lead system and application upgrades.
- Must be available for off-hour on-call issues within the Cluster and for monthly patching.
- The ability to provide clear communication to senior management on issue identification and resolution.
- This position requires (6C) personnel security screening in accordance with the U.S. Department of Education’s (ED) policy regarding the personnel security screening requirements for all contractor and subcontractor employees. To obtain this level of clearance, applicants must be a U.S. Citizen. A qualified applicant must successfully submit for personnel security screening within 14 calendar days from employment offer. Some travel may be required for PIV support.
