Job Title: Technical Program Manager, ESS 

Location: San Francisco Bay area, CA 

Department: ESS Engineering 

Reports to: Technical Programs Lead

About the Job 

Peak Energy is looking for a Technical Program Manager to join our Energy Storage Systems (ESS) team and play a crucial role in driving the development and deployment of our sodium ion based large-scale energy storage systems. This role will lead cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, reliable, and efficient energy storage solutions that meet the needs of our customers and contribute to the advancement of renewable energy storage. 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Lead the end-to-end execution of energy storage system projects, from concept to delivery, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budget, and quality standards.  
  • Collaborate with many cross-functional stakeholders including engineering, product management, supply chain, and operations teams to define project scope, objectives, and requirements, and develop comprehensive project plans. 
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and partners, to drive alignment, achieve project goals, and ensure stakeholder satisfaction 
  • Identify and mitigate risks, issues, and dependencies that may impact project delivery, and implement effective mitigation strategies. 
  • Monitor project progress, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide regular updates to stakeholders on project status, milestones, and deliverables. 
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize project processes, increase efficiency, and enhance overall project execution capabilities. 
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements related to battery energy storage systems, and integrate relevant insights into project planning and execution. 

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field. 
  • 8+ years of experience in program or project management, preferably in the battery or energy storage industry. 
  • Strong technical background in battery energy storage systems, including familiarity with battery chemistries, energy management systems, and grid integration technologies. 
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse cross-functional teams and stakeholders. 
  • Solid understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices. 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and drive results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. 
  • Passion for renewable energy, sustainability, and driving positive environmental impact through technology innovation. 
  • Eligible to work in the U.S. 

The salary range for this role is $160,000 - $190,000, with actual pay varying based on work location, experience, and skills.
