WHO WE ARE

Built Robotics’ mission is to build the robots that build the world. By automating repetitive tasks in the $300 billion solar industry, Built is bridging the workforce gap to accelerate our transition to clean energy. As the deployment arm of Built Robotics, Built Solar Technologies (BST) is bringing AI-powered tools out of the lab and into the field.

YOUR MISSION

Our engineering team has spent nearly a decade building the most advanced construction tool on the planet, and your mission is to ensure it performs flawlessly in the field. As a Technical Program Manager, you will be the bridge between the field and the lab, ensuring that our pile-driving robots achieve maximum reliability and production.

You will be responsible for the feedback loop that drives our product forward: gathering raw data from the field, translating it into actionable engineering priorities, and coordinating the support activities that keep our fleet running. This role requires practical, customer-centric instincts to solve real-world problems and a rigorous, data-driven approach to tracking hardware and software performance.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Monitor Robot Performance: Work closely with field and engineering teams to analyze robot performance, ensuring high uptime and production.

  • Discover Technical Insights: Quantitatively track the performance of hardware components and software features to identify failure points and optimization opportunities.

  • Drive the Technical Feedback Loop: Gather video and log data from the field to inform engineering efforts and address product gaps, and as needed travel to active projects to gather boots-on-the-ground data on robot performance.

  • Manage Product Lifecycle: Work across the company to track hardware inventory, revisions, and the status of technical components and supplies.

  • Coordinate Technical Support: Help manage robot support activities between field operations and engineering to resolve technical issues quickly and safely.

  • Ensure Strategic Alignment: Partner with business leaders to understand strategic priorities and customer needs and steer technical development toward these goals.

  • Customer Reporting: Meet with customers and generate detailed reports to characterize robot performance and value on specific projects, driving account expansion.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS in a technical field

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, and strong ability to create docs, spreadsheets and slide decks (e.g., MS Office, Google Workspace)

  • Rigorous attention to detail and demonstrated ability to “bring order to chaos”

  • Familiarity with hardware and software R&D processes and tools (e.g., CAD, Github, Trello, LLMs, etc.)

  • Willingness to be in the field routinely, according to business needs

  • Proven track record of making safety a top priority

  • Ability to create clear processes and maintain documentation

  • Adaptability to work in new situations and do what it takes to get the job done

  • Competent at driving pickup trucks and able to lift 40 lbs

  • Valid US driver's license

COMPANY PERKS

  • Competitive salary and equity

  • 100% employer-sponsored health, dental and vision insurance — for you, your spouse and children

  • 401(k) with employer matching

  • Paid holidays and flexible PTO

  • TSA Pre Check

  • Gym membership

  • Free catered lunch and plenty of snacks

  • Opportunity to work on an 100,000-pound autonomous robot

  • A pair of steel-toe boots

ABOUT THE ROLE

The starting annual base salary range for this role is $135,000 to $165,000. Job level and actual compensation will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, individual qualifications, working location, and market demands. The total compensation package for this role may also include: equity compensation, benefits such as medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, paid time off, cell phone and internet reimbursement and more.
