About Humble Robotics

Working at Humble Robotics means taking on the biggest change in ground transportation in decades. We’re building an autonomous, zero-emissions hauler that dramatically lowers the cost of freight with groundbreaking vision-based AI, designed for today’s global logistics network.

We’re a fast-moving, close-knit team of AV industry veterans and innovative thinkers. We don’t believe culture can be engineered – but when it falls into place, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime adventure.

Progress has never felt so present.

Position Overview

The Technical Program Manager (TPM) is responsible for driving the planning, coordination, and delivery of complex, cross-functional programs across hardware, software, robotics, and operations teams. This role ensures that engineering initiatives are well-scoped, on track, and delivered with high quality. The TPM partners closely with engineering leads and stakeholders to define program goals, manage dependencies, surface risks, and maintain clear communication throughout the product lifecycle—from early concept through deployment and field support.

Key Responsibilities

    • Lead end-to-end program management for complex, multi-team engineering initiatives across the autonomous vehicle platform.

    • Define program scope, milestones, and success criteria in collaboration with engineering and product stakeholders.

    • Build and maintain detailed program schedules, identifying critical paths, dependencies, and resource constraints.

    • Facilitate cross-functional planning and alignment across hardware, software, robotics, and manufacturing teams.

    • Proactively identify, track, and mitigate program risks and blockers; escalate issues with clarity and urgency.

    • Drive structured communication rhythms including program reviews, status updates, and stakeholder reporting.

    • Organize system-level design reviews and ensure interface agreements between subsystem teams are well-defined and documented.

    • Manage trade-off decisions by working with technical leads to evaluate schedule, cost, and scope impacts.

    • Coordinate test and validation planning to ensure vehicle-level programs meet quality and safety requirements.

    • Develop and maintain program documentation including plans, decision logs, and retrospectives.

    • Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes, tooling, and program execution practices.

Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.

    • 5+ years of experience in technical program management, engineering program management, or a related role.

    • Demonstrated experience managing cross-functional programs involving hardware, software, and systems integration.

    • Strong understanding of systems engineering concepts including requirements management, interface control, and V&V processes.

    • Experience with program scheduling tools (e.g., Jira, Asana, MS Project, Smartsheet, or similar).

    • Excellent communication and facilitation skills; ability to drive alignment across diverse technical and non-technical stakeholders.

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to decompose ambiguous problems into actionable plans.

    • Eligible to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

    • Master’s degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.

    • Experience in the autonomous vehicle, robotics, or advanced manufacturing industry.

    • Familiarity with vehicle systems development including mechanical, electrical, and embedded software domains.

    • Experience managing programs with both hardware prototype and software release cycles.

    • Background in Agile, Scrum, or other iterative development methodologies.

    • Experience with functional safety standards or safety-critical system development processes.

    • Familiarity with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing or vehicle-level validation programs.

    • PMP, PgMP, or equivalent program management certification.

    • Experience working in a fast-paced startup or early-stage product development environment.

Compensation

This role is eligible for base salary + benefits + equity compensation. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including qualifications, skills, experience, and location.
