The Role:
We are seeking a Senior Technical Project Manager / Business Analyst for a part-time, project-based engagement supporting a payroll-focused initiative. This role sits at the intersection of business analysis and project delivery, requiring strong documentation skills, stakeholder communication, and the ability to translate business processes into clear, build-ready requirements.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working alongside both business stakeholders and technical teams, including engineers and AI architects.
Engagement Details:

  • 20 hours per week
  • Contract (external)
  • May 5 – September 12, 2026 (19 weeks)
  • Working hours aligned to Pacific or AZ Time (approx. 9–5, 3 days per week) - Remote

Key Responsibilities:

  • Capture and document current-state payroll workflows, translating SME knowledge into clear, build-ready requirements
  • Define and document variance threshold rules and checklist logic in collaboration with internal payroll stakeholders
  • Develop functional and technical requirements for:
  • Variance Detection
  • Checklist Validation and Case Management
  • Track project progress, maintain status reporting, and communicate updates to executive stakeholders
  • Coordinate UAT efforts and support pilot close activities
  • Create SOPs and runbooks to support operational handoff

Required Skills:

  • Strong business analysis experience including requirements gathering, process documentation, and use case definition
  • Project management experience including milestone tracking, risk logging, and stakeholder communication
  • Technical fluency with the ability to work closely with engineers and translate between business and technical teams

Nice to Have:

  • Experience within payroll, HR, or PEO environments
  • Experience working on API-driven or automation-focused projects

Schedule:

  • Pacific OR AZ Time (approx. 9–5, 3 days per week)

Employment Type:

  • Corp to corp (C2C) preferred or contract
