Job Description: Technical Project Manager – ERP
About Specialized
We believe that bikes have the power to change lives—and behind every ride is a global business powered by technology. Our teams design, build, and operate the systems that keep Specialized moving with speed, accuracy, and rider‑obsession. As we modernize our core applications and data platforms, we are investing deeply in talent that can bring clarity, structure, and execution excellence to complex, global initiatives.
Role Summary
The Technical Project Manager – ERP will lead the cross‑functional delivery of Oracle ERP–related technology initiatives, including enhancements, integrations, process improvements, and modernization efforts. This role will play a key part in work associated with our transition from Oracle E‑Business Suite (EBS) toward ERP SaaS / Cloud solutions.
This position requires strong fluency across both technical delivery (engineering, integrations, data, architecture) and business process domains (finance, inventory, and order management). The ideal candidate is comfortable operating in a hybrid delivery environment, thoughtfully applying Agile and waterfall approaches based on the nature of the work, systems involved, and delivery partners.
In addition, this role is expected to be a change leader within the Project Management Office (PMO), actively leveraging AI‑enabled tools and techniques to modernize how projects are planned, tracked, communicated, and delivered—driving meaningful gains in efficiency, clarity, and execution quality.
This is an in‑office role based at our Morgan Hill, CA global headquarters.
What You’ll Do
Program & Project Leadership
- Lead ERP and adjacent technology projects from initiation through deployment, including planning, discovery, execution, cutover, and post‑go‑live hypercare.
- Partner with Functional and Technical Leads to define scope, outcomes, and measurable success criteria aligned to core business processes.
- Build and manage detailed project plans, including milestones, dependencies, resources, budgets, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate multi‑workstream delivery across functional, technical, integration, data, QA, and business teams.
Stakeholder & Communication Excellence
- Serve as a critical bridge between business process owners, technical teams, and leadership.
- Facilitate decision-making with clarity around trade-offs, risks, and business impacts.
- Drive consistent project governance: weekly working meetings, status updates, RAID management, and executive steering forums.
Hybrid Delivery Management
- Apply waterfall‑style planning for ERP lifecycle components where appropriate (e.g., configuration, data migration, cutover).
- Apply Agile principles (sprints, stand-ups, backlog planning) for iterative work, enhancements, and integration development.
- Coach teams on adapting delivery methodology to optimize speed, clarity, and quality.
PMO Modernization & AI‑Enabled Delivery
- Act as a change agent within the PMO, helping evolve project management practices through the thoughtful use of AI and automation.
- Apply AI‑enabled tools to improve planning accuracy, delivery forecasting, status reporting, risk identification, dependency tracking, and stakeholder communications.
- Experiment, standardize, and scale new ways of working that reduce manual overhead and improve signal‑to‑noise for delivery teams and leaders.
- Partner with PMO leadership to define best practices, guardrails, and adoption approaches for AI‑assisted project execution.
- Coach peers and teams on responsible, effective use of AI in day‑to‑day delivery work.
Quality, Change Management & Value Realization
- Ensure readiness across testing cycles, defect triage, training, communications, and user adoption.
- Partner closely with Change and Process Owners to ensure solutions are embraced and embedded.
- Track outcomes post‑go‑live, connecting improvements to measurable business value.
