Job Summary:

The Technical Project Manager is responsible for managing technical implementation projects for all Nextech products. Management includes planning & coordinating product implementations in accordance with best practice methodology, within the mutually defined timelines and within the project budget. This will include maintaining issue lists and managing to resolution implementation issues. There is a high degree of collaboration and negotiation required among internal departments to achieve a successful live for productive use of the software.

Essential Functions

    In addition to working in accordance with appropriate conduct and behavioral standards, specific responsibilities of this role include:

  • Creating and maintaining project charters for technical implementation projects.
  • Negotiating mutually acceptable project objectives, requirements, timelines, and success criteria.
  • Creating project schedules and managing technical project milestones.
  • Leading project kickoff calls to establish scope, expectations, deliverables, and communication plans.
  • Coordinating internal teams, third-party vendors, and client stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
  • Managing complex technical projects including database mergers, migrations, EMR integrations, practice management system conversions, and large-scale data splits and exports.
  • Collaborating with Development, Product, Support, and Operations teams to deliver specialized technical solutions.
  • Reviewing technical project requirements and providing consultation during the pre-sales process to ensure project scope, timelines, and solution requirements are clearly defined.
  • Identifying project risks, technical dependencies, implementation challenges and driving mitigation strategies.
  • Identifying and managing implementation issue lists and escalations through resolution.
  • Executing projects according to approved project plans and technical requirements.
  • Monitoring project progress and adjusting as necessary to ensure successful project completion and client satisfaction.
  • Establishing communication schedules and conducting regular client and vendor touchpoints to provide updates, address concerns, and maintain project alignment.
  • Setting up and maintaining project documentation to ensure all project information is appropriately documented and secured.
  • Serving as the primary technical implementation contact for Customer Experience (CX) on complex client engagements.
  • Reviewing project deliverables with stakeholders to ensure quality standards and project objectives are met.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • 3-5 years of Project Management and related experience
  • Assertive with a demonstrated ability to cultivate strong relationships & influence behavior
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Proven ability to solve problems creatively

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience in the Healthcare IT industry, specifically software implementation
  • Knowledge of or applicable experience in one of Nextech’s main medical specialties

Working Environment/Physical Demands

  • Remote role within the United States
  • May require occasional after-hours and weekend work to support project milestones, system migrations, Go-Live activities, and client business needs.
  • Long-distance or air travel as needed but not to exceed 10%
  • Activities require a significant amount of work in front of a computer monitor.
