The Opportunity

Nascent is building at the frontier of AI-native trading. Our ability to capture edge is gated by how fast we can get new venues live. As a Technical Project Manager for Trade Operations, you will own execution of exchange onboarding, brokerage integration, and vendor coordination — the work that determines whether our strategies can trade.

This is not a role for tracking tickets or running standups. You will drive complex work from zero, coordinating across engineering, operations, and external counterparties to reach operational readiness on timelines that matter.

You sit at the intersection of technical systems and external stakeholders, navigating the messy reality of exchange connectivity — KYC/KYB workflows, API integrations, prime brokerage relationships, and unstructured dependencies that come with bringing a venue online. You will build tools and use AI to eliminate manual coordination. The team is small, the autonomy is real, and you are accountable for outcomes, not process.

If you need structure handed to you, this is not the role.

This is a high-leverage position for someone who operates well in ambiguity and wants direct impact on a trading firm’s ability to deploy capital. If you have worked in trade operations and wished you could redesign the workflows yourself — with AI, custom tooling, and no bureaucracy — this is that role.

This role is fully remote and operates within +/- 3 hours of EST.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the full lifecycle of exchange onboarding – from initial application and KYC/KYB through API connectivity testing to production go-live – ensuring the firm can trade on new venues as fast as operationally possible.

  • Coordinate across engineering, operations, compliance, and counterparties to remove blockers and drive integrations to completion.

  • Manage relationships with exchanges, brokerages, prime brokers, and vendors, ensuring they deliver on timelines.

  • Build internal tooling, dashboards, and automated workflows — including AI/LLM systems — to track progress, surface blockers, and reduce manual work.

  • Create repeatable processes for operational work that lacks playbooks, adding structure without adding overhead.

  • Evaluate and integrate vendors for operational infrastructure, prioritizing speed and technical fit over process.

  • Identify and resolve operational risks early — across exchange requirements, regulatory changes, and integration timelines.

  • Work directly with traders and engineers to translate operational needs into technical requirements that support trading.

About You

  • You have personally onboarded exchanges or built trading infrastructure — you know what it takes to go from zero to live.

  • You do not wait for instructions. You see gaps and close them.

  • You have a genuine AI-native mindset – you’re actively building with LLMs, AI agents, or automation tools to multiply your own output.

  • You measure success by whether the firm can trade, not by whether a plan was followed.

  • You are technically fluent and comfortable discussing APIs, data flows, and system design.

  • You operate well in ambiguity and prefer building playbooks to inheriting them.

  • You have strong judgment managing external stakeholders and know when to push or find workarounds.

Required Experience

  • 4–6 years of experience in technical operations, trading ops, or adjacent roles, with a track record of owning workflows, improving systems, and driving work forward with minimal direction

  • Hands-on experience with exchange onboarding, trade operations implementation, or trading infrastructure buildout.

  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate complex, dependency-heavy work across engineering, operations, and external parties.

  • Track record of managing exchanges, brokerages, prime brokers, or vendors and driving them to deliver.

  • Active use of AI/LLM tools to automate workflows or accelerate operations, with concrete examples.

  • Proven ability to operate independently in low-structure environments and set your own priorities.

Nice-to-Have’s

  • Experience at a prop trading firm, market maker, or crypto-native trading operation.

  • Familiarity with FIX protocol, exchange APIs, or market microstructure.

  • Experience with regulatory or compliance workflows tied to exchange access.

  • Experience building internal tooling or automating workflows with code, no-code, or AI agents.
