Mission

TAR’s mission is to power intelligence for the world. We are building the world’s first off-grid power plant for data centers powered by renewable technologies.

We firmly believe AI should be built in the US for the benefit of all people. For that, power must be fast, clean and scalable. We are singularly focused on delivering GW-scale power faster than anyone has ever done, by rethinking every layer of the stack.

We vertically integrate to solve every bottleneck, from racking systems to power electronics to dispatch algorithms to on-site construction.

Leave your mark on the future of civilization-scale energy infrastructure.

Company

TAR is both a hardware and software company, we are building out massive, critical, physical infrastructure. TAR is working directly with one of the largest compute providers to scale and deploy 5GWs by 2028.

We operate on…

  • High ownership. High Agency. Own project end-to-end. Great people don’t need to be managed.

  • Speed. We achieve great things on incredible timelines. We push ourselves to go faster.

  • First principles. No ego. No hierarchy. Challenge every assumption.

  • Passion. Solving the energy problem is one of the largest challenges that faces the world now and in the future.

About the role

As Technical Recruiter in our San Francisco office, you are the culture leader recruiting talent and curating the TAR brand in California. You sit with the R&D team and hire exceptional people across robotics, hardware, and software. You partner closely with department heads and the co-founders to bring the absolute best talent into TAR, ensuring a constant up-leveling of our teams. We move fast, and your pipelines mirror that sense of urgency. As TAR grows and evolves, you are the subject matter expert who sharpens our interview process.

Responsibilities
  • Own full-cycle recruiting for our San Francisco R&D team across robotics, hardware, and software roles, from intake and sourcing through offer and close.

  • Build deep outbound pipelines of passive candidates; the engineers we want are rarely on the market, so you go find them.

  • Partner with department heads and the co-founders as a trusted talent advisor, defining ideal profiles, challenging assumptions, and bringing market data that sharpens each search.

  • Run a structured, high-signal interview process in Ashby, keeping loops fast, feedback crisp, and interviewers calibrated.

  • Drive offers to signed, partnering with leadership on offer strategy and closing senior candidates against competitive alternatives.

  • Own the candidate experience end to end, so every candidate leaves as an advocate for TAR whether or not they get an offer.

  • Represent TAR in the Bay Area talent market and build our employer brand across the robotics, hardware, and software communities.

  • Track recruiting metrics such as time-to-hire, passthrough rates, and offer acceptance, and use them to improve the funnel and the interview process as TAR scales.

Qualifications
  • 6+ years of recruiting experience and a relevant Bachelor's degree.

  • 4+ years of closing experience, taking candidates from offer through signed.

  • Full-cycle recruiting experience across technical and non-technical departments.

  • Experience hiring mechanical, electrical, hardware, and software engineering roles.

  • Evidence of partnering with hiring managers and leadership as a trusted talent advisor, challenging assumptions and bringing market data that elevates hiring strategy.

  • High ownership and urgency: you run searches end to end and keep pipelines moving at startup pace.

Nice to have
  • Energy sector recruiting experience, for example with firms like Piper Maddox, Taylor Hopkinson, or NES Fircroft.

  • Experience hiring heavy robotics talent from defense, manufacturing, autonomy, or similar industries.

  • Startup experience as a full-lifecycle recruiter.

  • Recruiting coordination experience.

Salary and Benefits
  • Up to $15K relocation bonus

  • Unlimited PTO

  • Health, Dental, Vision insurance

  • $1K monthly stipend for meals
