Emerging Tech is seeking a Technical Specialist to support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Electronic Health Record Modernization Integration Office (EHRM-IO). This role serves as a field-facing technical expert responsible for supporting Oracle Health implementation activities and ensuring alignment with the EHRM-IO Strategic Plan. 

The Technical Specialist works independently and collaboratively across technical, clinical, and operational teams to support system readiness, identify technical dependencies, and ensure successful implementation of electronic health record technologies. This role requires strong technical expertise, systems integration experience, and the ability to operate in complex healthcare IT environments. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Serve as a field-facing technical subject matter expert supporting Oracle Health and EHRM-IO implementation activities 
• Collaborate with Information Services, OIT, BioMed, FMS, clinical teams, project managers, and other stakeholders to gather and analyze technical requirements 
• Support preparation and readiness activities for Oracle Health implementation across VA facilities 
• Apply technical expertise to evaluate system dependencies, integration requirements, and infrastructure readiness 
• Advise and participate in the implementation of electronic medical record technologies 
• Provide technical guidance related to systems integration, interoperability, and platform compatibility 
• Identify technical risks, dependencies, and constraints and support mitigation planning 
• Support feasibility analysis and evaluation of potential future technical initiatives 
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with EHRM-IO strategic objectives 
• Ensure technical activities align with project timelines, quality standards, and delivery expectations 
NOTE - This position requires the ability to travel up to 70%

Minimum Qualifications: 

• 5+ years of professional work experience 
• Experience designing and developing new software products or major enhancements within a healthcare or clinical environment 
• Demonstrated expertise in systems integration, compatibility, healthcare semantics, informatics, and multi-platform environments 
• Experience serving as a technical lead or subject matter expert responsible for project delivery 
• Ability to perform feasibility analysis and provide technical recommendations to leadership 
• Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline 
o An additional 10 years of relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of degree requirements 

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Experience supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) 
• Experience implementing or supporting Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
