Job Description:

Join Microchip at the forefront of mission-critical edge computing.
Microchip’s PIC64 platform is enabling high-performance, secure, and deterministic computing systems for Aerospace, Defense, and Industrial applications — from the industrial edge to the edge of space. In this role, you will help drive adoption of PIC64 64-bit multicore processors that power mission-critical systems used in applications ranging from space exploration and satellite communications to next-generation aerospace and industrial platforms.
Microchip Technology Inc. is seeking a Technical Staff Engineer – Product Marketing to join our Communications Business Unit (CBU). As part of the Edge Compute product management team, you will play a broad, highly customer-facing role focused on accelerating design wins, strengthening ecosystem readiness, and driving market adoption of PIC64, with primary focus on the PIC64HX and PIC64-HPSC product families. You will engage directly with customers, partners, and sales teams to shape opportunities, define compelling solution value, and translate market insight into product strategy, roadmap direction, and portfolio execution.

Responsibilities:

Customer Engagement, Ecosystem & Market Adoption

- Act as a product and market expert for sales teams, ecosystem partners, and customer decision-makers across mission-critical embedded markets.
- Drive design-win-focused engagement for strategic accounts in Aerospace, Defense, and Industrial markets.
- Build and sustain senior-level customer relationships across engineering, product management, procurement, and program leadership.
- Gather and synthesize customer requirements, market signals, and design-in feedback to shape product and solution priorities.
- Support the growth of the PIC64 ecosystem across silicon, software, tools, operating systems, and strategic third-party collaborators to improve customer readiness and accelerate adoption.

Collateral, Enablement & Product Launch Support

- Develop and maintain high-quality customer-facing and sales-enablement collateral, including presentations, briefs, white papers, blogs, and reference materials.
- Support product launches through go-to-market planning, sales readiness, internal training, and market-facing messaging.

- Help define solution-oriented value propositions and positioning for target applications in mission-critical embedded compute.

Product Strategy & Portfolio Execution

- Contribute to product strategy, positioning, and roadmap planning for PIC64 64-bit embedded MPU/SoC platforms based on customer system requirements and market trends.
- Track competitive offerings, adjacent technologies, and market developments to inform investment priorities and product direction.
- Support portfolio planning and related business analysis for key product initiatives.

Requirements/Qualifications:

- US Citizenship Required.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field.

- 12.5+ years of experience in product line management, product management, technical marketing, field applications, business development, or similar roles involving embedded processors, MPUs, or SoCs.
- Experience with 64-bit embedded compute platforms; Arm and/or RISC-V experience strongly preferred.
- Strong customer-facing experience and ability to engage credibly with system architects, engineering leaders, and senior technical decision-makers.
- Direct exposure to mission-critical embedded markets, including Aerospace & Defense and/or Industrial segments.

- Familiarity with long product lifecycles, qualification expectations, and customer-specific requirements.

- Strong technical foundation in embedded compute platforms, with experience in several of the following: multicore 64-bit processors, Linux, RTOS, hypervisors, partitioning, software toolchains, Ethernet / TSN, platform security and cryptographic concepts, AI acceleration and/or vector processing, or related mission-critical embedded technologies.
- Experience working cross-functionally with hardware, software, systems engineering, sales, and marketing teams.

- Demonstrated ability to convert market and customer insight into actionable product, positioning, or roadmap decisions.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience in mission-critical or high-reliability embedded systems, including applications involving partitioning, determinism, functional safety, security, or certification-oriented requirements.
