If so, consider being the Temporary Annual Fund Coordinator for the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank. Join our friendly, collaborative, and hardworking development team, reporting to the Senior Development Campaign Manager.  

The Temporary Annual Fund Coordinator (TAFC) reports to and works closely with the Senior Development Campaign Manager; directly supporting the Annual Fund Coordinator during the busy holiday fundraising season. Aiding SFMFB’s Annual Fund, Development Operations, and Monthly Giving Circle teams, the TAFC will support donor stewardship and administration needs as assigned to ensure successful fundraising throughout the holiday season. This position is a hybrid role with 3 days at our 900 Pennsylvania Avenue warehouse location and 2 days remote. The TAFC will develop and maintain excellent relationships with internal and external constituencies, working closely with the team’s Senior Annual Fund Coordinator.

Together with more than 250+ community partners, we work to address hunger head-on through a coordinated network of neighborhood food pantries, CalFresh enrollment, home-delivered groceries, and policy and advocacy efforts. We work with our community to provide food for people facing hunger today while working to end the hunger of tomorrow. What You Would Be Accountable for: 

The Temporary Annua Fund Coordinator will be responsible for the following key pieces of work: 

  • Answer incoming donor calls and emails within 24 hours and perform other donor outreach as assigned.   

  • Calls may include processing donations, upgrading monthly donation payment information and general donor questions.   

  • Assist with tribute and memorial gift card mailings in conjunction with Development Operations Coordinator.  

  • During the Monthly Giving Circle telemarketing drive (October), assist with processing credit card gifts and update donor records with any contact or other changes.   

  • Assist with data hygiene projects for Monthly Giving Circle and Midlevel donor segments.  

  • Calling donors to verify correct emails.  

  • Reviewing lists and making suggested corrections (email syntax i.e., @gmail.com versus @gmal.com). 

  • Assist Development Operations with mailing acknowledgment letters. 

What You Would Be Doing Right Now: 

  • Assist the team with daily triaging of donor email and phone communications in Zendesk.   

  • Working with the DevOps team to update donor preferences and deceased records in the primary donor database, Raisers Edge.   

  • Assist with updating data and running daily maintenance queries for the Food Bank’s Monthly Giving Circle program.   

  • Pull new data for Planned Gift pledges from our partner portal, FreeWill and update RaisersEdge.    

What Else You Should Know: 

All internal candidates must apply using their Food Bank work email within 10 business days of posting to be considered. Applications submitted after 10 days are still welcome but may not be reviewed or afforded an interview, depending on the status of the selection process.  

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • 2+ years experience in non-profit, development, or related field.   

  • General understanding of fundraising standards and methodologies.   

  • Strong experience in Donor/Customer Service.   

  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite, Raiser’s Edge, and common office equipment. 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • Experience working in an office environment.  

  • Understanding of ZenDesk email and phone.    

KEY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES: 

  • Strong attention to detail.  

  • Fast, proficient, and accurate typist.   

  • Ability to work well under pressure with periodic heavy workloads.

This position is set in a hybrid environment (3 days onsite/2 days remote). The physical and environment demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. SALARY The position is temporary full-time. The starting salary for this position ranges from $33.27-$34.31, with exact salary depending on experience.
