The Lucile Packard Foundation for Children's Health, in partnership with Stanford Medicine and Lucile Packard Children's Hospital, unlocks philanthropy to transform health for children and families in Northern California - and around the world. Through fundraising and grantmaking, the Foundation drives scientific research, innovation, and policy change that will improve care, advance cures, and reform healthcare systems for this and future generations.  


MAIN FOCUS: This role serves as the welcoming face of the Foundation, ensuring a seamless office experience while supporting other administrative functions as needed.


LOCATION: Palo Alto, CA (onsite, Monday-Friday, 8 am-5 pm)


WHAT YOU'LL DO... 

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Strategic Initiatives, the Temporary Office Operations & Administrative Associate plays a critical role in creating a welcoming, organized, and efficient office environment. This role manages front desk operations. The Associate is proactive, detail-oriented, service-minded, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where adaptability, professionalism, and strong organizational skills are essential.

This is a temporary, full-time position lasting approximately two months, from August through October 2026.

The compensation range for this role is $27-$30.81 per hour.


YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR...

  • Greeting guests and managing phone coverage for the Foundation’s main line while maintaining a professional, welcoming experience for visitors and staff.
  • Maintaining the overall appearance and functionality of office and kitchen spaces across two suites, including stocking supplies and coordinating shared spaces.
  • Receiving, sorting, and distributing mail and packages.
  • Ordering office supplies as needed.
  • Maintaining and updating front desk and office operations documentation and procedures.


YOU MUST HAVE...

  • 2+ years of experience in office administration or a related administrative role.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to anticipate needs and take initiative independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with a strong customer service orientation.
  • Experience supporting day-to-day office operations in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Comfort handling sensitive or confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and experience learning and navigating new systems and technology platforms.
  • Strong follow-through, reliability, and accountability in managing tasks and deadlines.
  • Ability to adapt quickly, prioritize effectively, and remain composed in a dynamic environment.
