THREAT AND VULNERABILITY ANALYST INTERN

SailPoint is the leading provider of identity security and governance solutions. We are looking for a highly motivated and inquisitive individual to join our team as a Threat and Vulnerability Analyst Intern. In this role, you will gain valuable hands-on experience in identifying, assessing, and mitigating cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities within our organization. You will work closely with experienced security professionals, learning industry best practices and contributing to the overall security posture. They’ll already be comfortable with the 4 I’s at SailPoint (individual, Impact, Innovation, and Integrity) even if they’re new to the concept. They will embrace new challenges and will be a positive contributor to an already positive work culture and environment.

Important details:

·       Your internship will start on June 08, 2026 and run until August 14, 2026

·       The first week of your internship will be held in-person at our Headquarters in Austin, TX

·       Travel and lodging will be provided

 

What will I be doing? 

·       Collaboration with risk management to enhance vulnerability and threat data involved in risk evaluations.

·       Defining processes that can be maintained to increase transparency and efficiency between vulnerability, threat, and risk data.

·       Assisting with communication plans, policy updates, tool enhancements, etc. 

·       Conduct threat in-depth research on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and attack vectors and analyze threat intelligence data to identify relevant threats to the organization and assess their potential impact.

·       Monitor and analyze threat intelligence feeds from various sources, including open-source intelligence (OSINT), commercial threat intelligence platforms, and intelligence sharing partnerships.

·       Track and document threat actor activity and campaigns.

 

What skills do I need? 

·       Strong interest in cybersecurity and a desire to learn about threat intelligence, vulnerability management, and vendor risk management.

·       Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

·       Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

·       Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

 

 

Nice to have

·       Basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts, including networking, operating systems, and common security threats.

 

Education 

·       Rising BA/BS in Cybersecurity, Information Security, or Computer Science

Compensation varies based on your level of education from high school to Masters and the role applied for.

The reasonably estimated hourly rate for interns at SailPoint ranges from (min-mid-max, USD):

$15 - $28 - $40
