We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Title Examiner with 5+ years of title examination experience with Commercial and Acreage properties. The ideal candidate will perform thorough title searches, review title documents, and prepare commitments. Texas experience is required, and multi-state expertise is valued.

Our Title Group is a full-service title, settlement, underwriting and vendor management services company serving consumers, real estate companies, affinity groups, corporations, and financial institutions in support of residential and commercial real estate transactions.

Job Responsibilities:

· Conduct a thorough search of the public records and conduct a complete examination to assess property’s status of title, while adhering to regulatory title standards and Underwriter’s policies and procedures.

· Review documents affecting title to property, such as mortgages, deeds, probate records, trust agreements etc.

· Read and interpret real estate documents, legal proceedings, maps, and surveys.

· Responsible for assembling Title Commitments to be used to issue a Final Title Policy.

· Communicate effectively with Underwriters, Title Officers, Escrow Officers, and Escrow Processing Teams.

· Be willing to mentor junior examiners on various title issues.

Qualifications:

· High School Diploma or equivalent.

· Minimum of 5 years of Texas title examination experience.

· Strong understanding of title examination process and procedures, related documentation, and their effect upon title.

· Fully versed in Commercial, Residential and Acreage (metes and bounds) examinations, experience in Texas.

· Proficient in the use of Title Data (TIMS) title plant software, Deed Plotter software, have experience with County Government websites).

· Must have good research/ investigation skills and understand legal terms, be aware of new legal developments/legislation that affect real property.

· Excellent verbal/written skills and attention to detail, excellent customer service skills.

· Must be able to prioritize according to departmental guidelines, have a high level of organizational skills, ability to consistently meet deadlines, work with constantly

changing priorities demonstrate strong follow through, and to follow procedures/processes.

· Basic computer skills and ability to learn and use various software applications Microsoft Outlook, Word, Acrobat.

· Attention to detail combined with analytical and problem-solving skills.
