Lead and grow a frontend team building high-performance, performance-sensitive React applications for robotics. Own features end-to-end, mentor engineers, participate in architecture and product discussions, recruit, and deliver exceptional visualization tools.

Build the data infrastructure for robots operating in the real world.

Robotics is moving from research labs into production across factories, warehouses, vehicles, and field deployments. When robots fail, behave unexpectedly, or need to be improved, engineers rely on data to understand what actually happened.

At Foxglove, we build the observability, visualization, and data infrastructure that makes that possible. Our tools are used by robotics and autonomous systems teams to ingest, store, query, replay, and analyze massive volumes of multimodal sensor data from live systems and from production fleets.

About the Role

High performance frontend engineering is fundamental to our product and our success as a company. We push the expectations of web-based applications and ship both browser and desktop apps.

We’re looking for an exceptional Frontend Product TLM who gets excited about solving complex product problems with an innate drive to make things better.

Key Responsibilities
  • End-to-end ownership over features, working directly with our customers, community, design, and PM to understand requirements

  • Lead an experienced team to execute and hold high standards

  • Deliver features alongside the team

  • Guide and participate in product and architecture discussions to achieve an exceptional product experience

  • Manage, mentor, and grow a team of frontend engineers, including providing regular feedback, and performance reviews

  • Contribute to recruiting efforts by conducting technical and managerial interviews, and driving hiring decisions to attract top talent

What we're looking for
  • 8+ years experience in frontend or full stack engineering roles focused on product applications

  • 2+ years of experience in a Tech Lead Manager (TLM) or engineering management role, combining hands-on technical leadership with direct people management responsibilities

  • Experience with profiling and performance of frontend applications

  • Experience building complex React applications (or similar frontend framework)

  • Experience or interest in performance-sensitive frontend engineering

  • Passion for building technical tools with engineers as the primary users

  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills

  • Ability to motivate and thrive in a fast-paced, small team environment

  • Experience managing team capacity, prioritizing staffing needs, and partnering with recruiting to fill critical roles

Bonus points
  • Robotics or Autonomous industry experience

  • Experience in 2D or 3D visualization

Why Join Us
  • Impact: Own growth at a fast-growing, high-leverage moment for the company.

  • Mission: Accelerate the development of the next generation of robotics and embodied AI.

  • Team: Work with world-class engineers, designers, and researchers passionate about open-source and developer tools.

  • Ownership: Drive initiatives end-to-end, with high autonomy and visibility.
