We are actively seeking a Tooling CNC Programmer/Machinist in our Tooling Department, reporting to the Manager of Tooling & Manufacturing Engineering.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Tooling CNC Programmer/Machinist programs, sets up, and operates a variety of CNC mills, lathes, and manual equipment to manufacture precision tooling, prototype parts, fixturing, and support equipment for helicopter production. This position requires the ability to independently take engineering drawings and deliver completed parts with little to no assistance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & COMPETENCIES:
- Ability to review engineering drawings and CAD models to determine machining strategy, work holding, and tooling selection.
- Program CNC equipment using Mastercam for both milling and turning applications.
- Set up jobs on advanced CNC equipment including 5-axis mills and mill-turn machines.
- Execute machining tasks on high-mix, low-volume prototype and tooling work in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of feeds, speeds, and surface finish requirements based on material and design intent.
- Ability to interpret GD&T and apply precision machining methods accordingly.
- Competent with basic shop math and trigonometry.
- Experience with manual machines (lathe and/or mill) is beneficial.
- Skilled in the use of precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gages, indicators, and thread gauges.
- Strong problem-solving mindset with ability to adapt quickly to design or priority changes.
- Good communication and teamwork while being highly self-directed and capable of working independently.
- Full compliance with the Company’s DOT Antidrug and Alcohol Misuse Prevention Program.
- Regular and predictable attendance.
- Mastercam programming experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience with Fanuc controls.
- Machining or CNC programming certificates from community college or accredited trade school are desirable.
- Experience with aerospace materials including aluminum, alloy steels, and stainless steels.
