Trade Account Manager (TAM) (m/f/d)
permanent position in Zurich
Main Purpose
The Trade Account Manager (TAM) plays a critical role in driving commercial excellence within the Mid-Size Markets (MSM). This role is responsible for managing key accounts, identifying and prioritizing account-specific tenders, and supporting demand planning and forecasting activities. The TAM also maintains strong relationships with top Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) to ensure alignment with market and stakeholder needs.
TAMs develop and execute strategic account plans designed to achieve sales targets, drive revenue growth, and support sustainable business performance. Their focus is strictly on commercial activities, maintaining and strengthening partnerships with hospitals, hospital pharmacies, and clinics, while promotional activities remain out of scope.
Beyond traditional sales responsibilities, the TAM fosters trust-based, long-term relationships and works to align Pfizer's value proposition with the evolving needs of healthcare systems, providers, and payers. Through strategic planning and deep stakeholder engagement, the TAM drives sustainable growth and strengthens partnerships across the healthcare ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities
  • TAMs play a crucial role in maintaining commercial excellence within MSMs. Establish and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders within the Key country accounts.
  • Develop tailored action plans for each account, aligning with company objectives and market potential.
  • TAMs manage key accounts, highlight specific account tenders, and pricing requests, support demand and forecasting, and maintain connections with top KOLs.
  • Develop integrated account plans in collaboration with cross-functional teams, tailored to the dynamics of mid-size markets and aligned with Pfizer's portfolio strategy.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with decision-makers, influencers, and stakeholders across healthcare institutions, distributors.
  • Position Pfizer as a strategic partner by articulating the value of its products and services in terms of patient outcomes, system efficiencies, and economic impact.
  • Serve as the central point of contact for internal teams (medical, access, marketing, compliance, IT, customer service) to ensure seamless execution of account strategies and achieving the project goals. Close cooperation and alignment with local Tender Specialist.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and policy changes to proactively adapt account strategies and identify new opportunities.
  • Track key account metrics, report progress, and adjust plans to meet commercial objectives and customer expectations.

You offer:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in life sciences, business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. MBA or other relevant advanced degree is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical key account management (preferably in mid-size or emerging markets) or a related role. Experience working with biopharma portfolios including specialty care, vaccines, or hospital products.Familiarity with tendering processes, distributor management, and public-private partnerships in mid-size markets.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and market dynamics.
  • Skills: Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proven Ability to manage complex accounts and navigate matrix organizations (work collaboratively with cross-functional teams). Proficiency in CRM software and data analysis tools.
  • Language requirements: German and English, French preferred.
