As a UX Designer, you will design and improve the player experience - the flow of player actions and choices, and the hierarchy of controls and features on all the screens our players see. Your analytical sense, player insight, and craft will help you and the team create in- and out-of-game experiences that delight millions of players around the world. In these roles you will report to the product’s UX Director.

We have several exciting UX Design roles on the League of Legends and Teamfight Tactics teams. Whether you have a deep affinity for the strategic depth of League of Legends or the ever-evolving tactical challenge of Teamfight Tactics, you’ll collaborate closely with teams to craft clear and consistent user experience flows that let players get to and experience the fun in our games smoothly and seamlessly on whatever platform they choose.

This role is great for someone looking to start a career in UX design for games, and building a foundation more broadly in game design as well. We’re looking for potential, not perfection. You don’t need previous professional design experience, but you do need an analytical mind, a passion for solving tough gameplay and interface problems, and a relentless drive to grow as a designer. As you progress through our interview process, we will focus you towards either LOL or TFT using your interview performance and genre affinity.

Responsibilities:
  • Work collaboratively to ideate, prototype, and implement UX concepts and flows that enhance and make accessible the player experience for League of Legends or Teamfight Tactics.
  • Partner with game designers to shape mechanics and systems that are intuitive, accessible, and support the intended player experience.
  • Solve complex design challenges through creativity, iteration, and player-focused thinking.
  • Actively participate in playtests and feedback sessions, using data and insights to iterate designs.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with cross-disciplinary teams to ensure alignment and shared vision.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (UX, human-computer interaction, human factors engineering, or similar) or 2+ years of prior professional experience in UX Design
  • You regularly play either League or Legends or Teamfight Tactics and have in-depth knowledge of the game.
  • You have a desire to pursue a career in UX design for games, and to build your skills in game design.
  • You have a growth mindset and are open to receive, reflect upon, and act on feedback.
  • You deeply understand and communicate customer/player needs, especially around deep player experience, player decision making, and creating exciting spectator experiences.
  • You’re capable of identifying a problem, generating a range of viable solutions to it, and advocating for the most appropriate one. You’re then able to create and communicate the details of that proposed solution.
Desired Qualifications:
  • You have a strong understanding of player motivations and have the ability to translate player needs into design solutions.
  • You are familiar with competitive gaming environments or esports communities.
  • You are experienced working collaboratively on group projects or in team settings.

Application Deadline: Monday, September 14th at 11:59pm PST
