The Fuel Virtual Machine, with its groundbreaking state minimization and parallel transaction execution capabilities, sets a new standard for Ethereum Rollups, overcoming existing limitations in protocol development.
Since our 2019 launch with Fuel V1, we've been focused on enhancing Ethereum's scalability. Our innovations, like the Fuel Virtual Machine and the Sway programming language, provide developers with a powerful, user-friendly environment.

We’re a passionate, intelligent, and empathetic globally dispersed team, united by a love for innovation and a commitment to shaping the future of blockchain technology—one groundbreaking solution at a time.

Role Overview
We are seeking a hybrid UX and Graphic Designer to transform complex crypto products into professional, intuitive, and visually compelling experiences. This role will be responsible for design across product development, marketing, and community engagement. The Designer will create end-to-end user experiences for professional traders, develop high-impact visual assets for campaigns, and ensure a cohesive, high-standard visual identity for Fuel Labs. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of trading mechanics and user interfaces, translating this knowledge into precise and effective design solutions.

Who You Are

  • You’re optimistic. You’ve got positive energy and see opportunities where others see problems.
  • You’re a lifelong learner. You’re eager to dive deep into emerging technologies, from Ethereum Rollups to decentralised finance, and you thrive on mastering new concepts.
  • You’re a team player. You believe in the power of collaboration and are ready to push boundaries with a group of like-minded innovators. You welcome the challenge of stepping out of your comfort zone to achieve something great.
  • You’re high agency. You believe in your ability to impact outcomes and take proactive steps to make things happen. Instead of waiting for instructions or letting obstacles deter you, you create solutions and drive projects forward with determination and resourcefulness.
  • You’re courageous. In a rapidly changing industry like ours, you’re not afraid to voice your ideas, and challenge the status quo. You have the confidence to tackle difficult problems and the resilience to see them through.
  • You steer clear of performative crypto trends. You’re mission-driven, focused on substance and prefer actions that drive real results over following popular narratives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and iterate on user interfaces for decentralized trading and DeFi platforms on the Fuel network, prioritizing intuition and visual clarity.
  • Produce high-quality visual content, graphics, and digital assets for targeted marketing campaigns aimed at crypto and financial audiences.
  • Partner closely with development, product management, and marketing teams to define and govern Fuel's visual and interactive identity.
  • Conduct focused user research with experienced traders to optimize UX flows and streamline complex platform interactions.
  • Develop high-fidelity design prototypes using industry-standard tools like Figma, with an emphasis on performance and usability.
  • Establish and maintain a consistent design language across all platforms, including web, mobile, and external community channels.
  • Generate innovative and culturally relevant visual concepts, including static graphics and motion assets, to enhance brand recognition within the crypto ecosystem.

Required Qualifications

  • Direct experience with, or a strong intuitive understanding of, crypto, capital markets, or active trading—particularly as it relates to effective trading interface design.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing creative problem-solving and the ability to develop original, high-impact visual concepts.
  • Demonstrated success in design and content creation aimed at crypto or financial-technology audiences.
  • Advanced proficiency in UX/UI design tools (e.g., Figma) with mastery of responsive design principles and end-to-end design systems.
  • Proven ability to execute brand strategy through visual campaigns, professional-grade web design, and motion graphics.
  • A commitment to first-principles design, with a willingness to challenge existing conventions in pursuit of optimal user experience.

Desirable Qualifications (Bonus Points)

  • Experience designing professional-grade dashboards, trading interfaces, or analytics platforms.
  • Familiarity with DeFi protocols, Web3 principles, and industry-standard design patterns.
  • Working knowledge of basic front-end technologies (e.g., HTML/CSS, React).
  • An established and active presence in professional crypto communities or relevant design networks (e.g., Twitter/X).
