About Attain

Built for consumers and companies, alike

In a world driven by data, we believe consumers and businesses can coexist. Our founders had a vision to empower consumers to leverage their greatest asset—their data—in exchange for modern financial services. Built with this vision in mind, our platform allows consumers to access savings tools, earned wages and rewards without cost or hidden fees. In exchange, they give permission to use their real-time data for research, insights and targeted advertising.

At Attain, your contribution will help us build a more equitable and efficient data sharing ecosystem—whether helping consumers access modern financial services or businesses leverage data to achieve better outcomes. You’ll have the opportunity to work directly with hands-on leaders and mission-driven individuals everyday.

Through our premier consumer apps, Klover and Merryfield, we are redefining the data-sharing ecosystem with our 10M+ users. Our team architects the future of consumer-permissioned data while providing modern financial services and rewards to our users and brand partners.

About the role

Our Product Team (product managers, designers, researchers and analysts) work together at the earliest stages of ideation; through prototyping, design, acceptance testing and user testing. We are searching for a UX Researcher who can support our user experience by identifying unique needs and behaviors and using those as a vehicle to support our new product features. You’ll have the opportunity to join a high-impact team in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors and/or Advanced degree in human-computer interaction, psychology, design or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in applied product research, preferably at a startup or early-stage company environment
    • Financial tech and/or consumer mobile application experience is a plus
    • Experience conducting research on gamification, rewards, or engagement features is a plus
  • Strong understanding of strengths and shortcomings of varied research methodologies and when to apply them
  • Comfortable working and adapting qualitative and quantitative research methods
  • Strong ability to bring practical and efficient expertise while balancing speed & insight – you’ve been known to run a usability test or dig into product analytics quickly
  • You’ll bring a pragmatic approach to research – you’ve excelled at matching research rigor to decision-making
  • You prioritize useful signals over statistical significance—you're comfortable making recommendations based on strong qualitative patterns or directional quantitative data
  • Excellent quantitative and qualitative communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proven ability to work effectively with multiple product stakeholders and balancing competing priorities
  • Highly collaborative, relationship-oriented and business-minded
  • Entrepreneurial, driven by outcomes and the ability to fight through challenges

What a typical week might look like

  • Proactively identify and prioritize research needs for the Product organization in partnership with design, engineering and marketing
  • Own the end-to-end research process for Attain’s suite of consumer apps (Klover, Merryfield, and more), including, but not limited to; recruiting, conducting, collecting, synthesizing and reporting; use generative and evaluative methodologies such as contextual inquiries, interviews, surveys & usability testing
  • Prioritizes speed-to-insight over perfection—delivering actionable insights on timelines that align with product development cycles
  • Build research plans using a variety of cutting-edge research methods
  • Analyze user behaviors and insights to compile and present concise and actionable recommendations based on findings
  • Propose and advocate for new areas of research that align with business goals and user needs

At the end of your first year, you’ll have helped us

  • Establish the foundation for how product, marketing, and consumer teams think about and make decisions based on user insights
  • Amplify our focus on user-centered thinking company wise by advocating and sharing research findings.
  • Gain an empathetic understanding of our user-needs & launch new product offerings as our business grows.
  • Establish scalable research processes and frameworks that grow with the company

We’re excited to hear from you.

At Attain, we are passionate about finding people to continuously help us grow our organization. We encourage you to apply, even if your experience doesn’t match every detail of the job description. If we don’t see something that immediately fits, we will keep your resume on file for future opportunities.
