Position Overview

We are an institutional venture capital firm seeking a senior operations leader to build and scale the firm’s operational infrastructure.

This role will work directly with the partners and take ownership of fund operations, SPVs, investor operations, compliance coordination, external service providers, and internal processes.

The ideal candidate has experience supporting multiple venture fund lifecycles and enjoys designing scalable systems rather than simply maintaining existing processes. This is an opportunity to join the firm at an early stage, shape how it operates, and grow into a senior leadership position as the platform expands.

Responsibilities

Fund Operations

  • Own day-to-day operations across all venture funds and investment vehicles.

  • Lead capital calls, distributions, quarterly closes, and LP reporting.

  • Maintain accurate fund records, documentation, and operational controls.

  • Manage relationships with fund administrators, auditors, tax providers, outside counsel, banks, and other external service providers.

  • Coordinate fund audits, tax processes, and other recurring fund requirements.

SPV Operations

  • Build and operate a repeatable SPV platform capable of supporting multiple transactions annually.

  • Standardize SPV processes from fundraising and investor onboarding through closing and ongoing administration.

  • Coordinate documentation, banking, capital activity, reporting, and service providers for each SPV.

  • Improve the efficiency and scalability of the firm’s SPV workflows.

Investor and Fundraising Operations

  • Oversee LP onboarding, subscription processes, and investor documentation.

  • Coordinate investor communications and operational requests.

  • Manage fundraising materials, due-diligence questionnaires, subscription workflows, and data rooms.

  • Partner with the investment team and firm leadership during fundraising processes.

  • Improve the quality, accuracy, and timeliness of LP reporting.

Firm Operations

  • Design and document scalable internal processes, policies, and operating procedures.

  • Evaluate and implement software, automation, and AI-enabled tools.

  • Build dashboards and operational reporting for the partners and wider team.

  • Coordinate compliance calendars, regulatory requirements, and internal deadlines.

  • Identify operational risks, process gaps, and opportunities for improvement.

  • Establish a consistent operating cadence across the firm.

Team Leadership

  • Mentor and develop junior operations team members.

  • Define roles, responsibilities, and workflows across the operations function.

  • Support future hiring plans across finance, operations, investor relations, and executive support.

  • Build the operational foundation required to support a growing multi-fund platform.

Requirements

  • 7 to 12+ years of experience in venture capital, growth equity, private equity, or investment-fund operations.

  • Experience supporting multiple institutional fund vintages and investment vehicles.

  • Strong understanding of venture fund mechanics, capital calls, distributions, quarterly closes, and LP reporting.

  • Significant experience managing fund administrators and other external service providers.

  • Experience establishing or operating SPVs and other special investment vehicles.

  • Experience supporting LP onboarding, subscription documentation, audits, tax processes, and fundraising operations.

  • Excellent project-management and organizational capabilities.

  • Strong attention to detail while maintaining awareness of broader strategic priorities.

  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams, stakeholders, and deadlines simultaneously.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Comfortable working directly with partners, senior executives, institutional LPs, and professional advisers.

  • A systems-oriented mindset with a strong interest in improving workflows and building scalable infrastructure.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience helping a venture capital or investment firm scale through multiple fund generations.

  • Experience building a fund-operations function, SPV platform, or institutional operating model.

  • Experience implementing fund-management software, operational automation, or AI-enabled workflows.

  • Familiarity with investor portals, CRM systems, data-room platforms, accounting systems, and reporting tools.

  • Experience developing dashboards, management reporting, and operational performance indicators.

  • Experience managing or developing junior operations professionals.

  • CPA, CFA, JD, MBA, or another relevant professional qualification is advantageous but not required.

Growth Areas

During the first year, the successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Establish a high-quality operating cadence across all funds and investment vehicles.

  • Build a scalable SPV platform capable of supporting increasing transaction volumes.

  • Improve the efficiency, accuracy, and quality of LP reporting and fundraising operations.

  • Become the central operational leader coordinating fund administrators, auditors, legal counsel, tax advisers, banks, and other external providers.

  • Introduce stronger systems, automation, dashboards, and operational controls.

  • Develop and formalize the firm’s policies, procedures, and compliance calendars.

  • Build an operations function capable of supporting multiple future funds and a growing institutional LP base.

  • Develop future team structures and hiring plans across operations, finance, investor relations, and executive support.

As the firm grows, this position is expected to develop into a broader senior leadership role, with potential progression to Head of Operations, Chief Operating Officer, or another leadership position responsible for the firm’s operating platform.
