The Global Partnerships team is seeking a strategic and entrepreneurial Strategic Business Development lead to drive the go-to-market commercialization of our Agentic AI solutions. You'll act as a builder and owner-identifying emerging opportunities, designing new partner plays, launching co-innovation efforts, and working cross-functionally to bring them to life. You'll think big, move fast, and deliver with precision.
The ideal candidate is passionate about digital payments, fintechs, AI platforms, and digital assets. They are highly motivated, intellectually curious, analytical, and possess an entrepreneurial mindset. Moreover, they function well in a complex and dynamic market environment and in a matrix structure that requires cross collaboration across functions and geographies combining the ability to provide structure as well as manage ambiguity.
Role:• Define and execute Mastercard's agentic commerce BD strategy, in close collaboration with product, account management, engineering, marketing, and legal• Identify, evaluate, and drive strategic partnerships across AI platforms, consumer agents, retailers, commerce infrastructure, and developer ecosystems• Own partner relationships end-to-end-from initial engagement through deal structuring, co-development, launch, and growth• Shape new monetization models, go-to-market strategies, and ecosystem architecture for agentic commerce• Be a voice of the partner internally-bringing insights, use cases, and feedback to influence product and platform strategy• Develop scalable partnership programs and frameworks that enable rapid expansion across verticals and geographies• Operate with high autonomy while collaborating across a matrixed global organization
All About You:• Extensive experience in business development, strategic partnerships, or platform ecosystem roles• Proven track record of structuring and executing complex partnerships in fast-moving technology environments• Experience working with or in product-led organizations, with a strong understanding of APIs, developer ecosystems, or platform dynamics• Excellent executive communication, negotiation, and influencing skills• Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to operate effectively in ambiguity• Deep curiosity about emerging commerce models, AI agents, and the evolution of consumer behavior• Experience working at a leading commerce, fintech, platform, or AI company• Knowledge of the agentic/LLM-powered ecosystem, including tools, orchestration platforms, and agent frameworks• Background in scaling partner programs or building ecosystems from zero to one• A systems thinker who can operate at both strategic and executional levels• People leadership experience with the ability to build highly engaged and performing teams.• Relevant experience leading complex cross-functional global teams.
