Position Overview

Pantheon is seeking a highly accomplished VP, Corporate Controller to lead our global accounting and financial operations. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the Corporate Controller will be a key member of the finance leadership team, and Senior Leadership Team responsible for the integrity, accuracy, and efficiency of the company’s financial infrastructure.
As Pantheon continues to scale, we require a leader who excels in operational excellence and is AI savvy. The ideal candidate will move beyond traditional reporting to architect a "Finance Intelligence" function—leveraging AI and automation to optimize the Quote-to-Cash lifecycle, resolve complex billing challenges, and build a lean, scalable engine for international expansion.

Executive Responsibilities
  • Global Accounting Leadership: Direct all global accounting operations, including General Ledger, AP, Procurement, and International Accounting. Provide strategic oversight to a high-potential team, ensuring professional development and operational continuity.
  • AI & Automation Strategy: Act as the primary champion for infusing AI into day-to-day finance activities. You will identify and implement AI-driven solutions for anomaly detection, automated reconciliations, and predictive "close" processes to significantly increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Operational Integration (Billing & AR): Assume full ownership of the Billing and Accounts Receivable functions. You will leverage automation to streamline the Quote-to-Cash workflow, ensuring high-fidelity revenue integrity even as billing complexity increases.
  • Process Excellence & Controls: Define and execute a best-in-class monthly and quarterly close process. Implement rigorous internal controls and AI-enhanced audit trails to ensure financial reporting is both timely and precise.
    Tax and Treasury Oversight: Manage global tax compliance and strategy. Lead treasury functions and devise strategy for liquidity management, and risk mitigation.
  • Systems & Scalability: Lead the evolution of the financial tech stack. Partnering with Business Systems team, Identify enterprise-grade systems that support high-volume transactions and integrate seamlessly with modern AI agents and LLM-based data analysis tools.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Serve as a strategic advisor to Sales Operations, Legal, and Engineering on contract structure, revenue recognition, and cross-departmental data flow.
The Ideal Candidate
  • The Operational Architect: You possess a deep understanding of the foundational processes of a Controllership organization and are energized by building repeatable, automated, and scalable processes.
  • The AI-Forward Thinker: You stay ahead of the curve on how Generative AI and Machine Learning can eliminate "soul-crushing" manual work, allowing your team to focus on high-value strategic analysis.
  • Proven Scaler: You have successfully navigated the transition from $100M to $300M+ in revenue within a high-growth SaaS environment and ideally have experience with in both private and public setting.
  • Leadership & Mentorship: You are a proven developer of talent, capable of elevating mid-level managers into senior leaders through structured guidance and a forward-thinking culture.
Professional Qualifications
  • Experience: 15+ years of progressive accounting leadership, with at least 5 years at the VP or Controller level in a high-growth SaaS organization and prior Public Accounting experience.
  • Operational Expertise: Extensive experience managing high-volume, complex Billing and Revenue Operations.
  • Transformation Track Record: Demonstrated success in implementing AI tools or advanced automation within an accounting function.
  • Global Reach: Experience in International Accounting and global tax/treasury management.
  • Transaction experience is plus
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or equivalent professional designation.

The US base salary range for this position is $201,600 - $280,000 USD per year. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. At Pantheon, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
